Based on the 1948 film of the same name, starring Moira Shearer, Matthew Bourne's production of The Red Shoes tells the story of ballerina Victoria Page and her tragic struggle between love and duty. Both the film and Matthew Bourne's production are inspired by Han Christian Andersen's fairytale of a young girl who defies conservative values by wearing her red shoes to church. These devilish shoes betray their owner, forcing her to dance to her death.

Matthew Bourne's acclaimed new production of THE RED SHOES had its Sadler's Wells press night this week and a special gala performance last night. The show runs until 29 January, 2017.

Matthew Bourne's THE CAR MAN begins its limited 16 week tour this evening at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley before visiting Wimbledon, Newcastle, High Wycombe, Bristol, Salford, Canterbury, Edinburgh, Leicester, Sheffield and ending with a four week summer season at Sadler's Wells from 14 July to 9 August. A talented group of 22 young dancers aged 10 - 23 from across London will take to the Sadler's Wells stage to perform in Matthew Bourne's production of Lord of the Flies, from 8 - 11 October 2014, alongside professional dancers from New Adventures.

Twenty two young men and boys, from across Central Scotland, have earned the opportunity to perform with Matthew Bourne's renowned dance company, New Adventures, in the anticipated return of Lord of the Flies at the Theatre Royal Glasgow from Wednesday 11 until Saturday 14 June 2014.
