MSG Network Leads New York Emmy Award Nominations

MSG Network received a whopping 60 nominations Thursday for the 54th Annual New York Emmy Awards. Among the other regional sports networks, the YES Network notched 46 nominations, while MSG Varsity picked up 32 nods. SNY was recognized 23 times.

Les Miserables at Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables led the pack with a dozen nominations. Broadsword at Miami's Mad Cat Theatre Company and Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them at Plantation's Mosaic Theatre tied with five nods each as the most recognized plays for the annual honors to be held on Monday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale.

Blume Media Group (Drama Desk Awards presenter) will premiere an AEA showcase production of a new topical comedy Dinner With Ahmed, by Paul Rawlings with direction by Danielle Campbell, at the Sargent Theater / American Theater of Actors (314 West 54th Street, between 8th & 9th Avenues) for a three-week limited engagement from February 22 through March 9, 2008.
