The Los Angeles based Lambert found a creative 'home' at West Hollywood's Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant. The AMERICAN IDOL standout spent many an evening crooning songs in that expressive voice of his on the Upright Cabaret stage, and a few special performances were captured on film. In this recording Adam Lambert performs Prince's How Come You Don't Call Me which brought the audience to their feet.

Thirteen different stage productions were honored at the fourth annual Kevin Kline Awards ceremony. Nine St. Louis area theater companies were recognized with awards. Five of those nine theaters were multiple award winners.

UM Dept. of Musical Theatre Presents Starry 25th Anniv Concert 3/21

The University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance Department of Musical Theatre presents a special 25 th Anniversary Concert on Saturday, March 21 at 8 PM in Hill Auditorium. Featuring current students of the department and alumni in collaboration with members of the UM Symphony Band, the 25 th Anniversary Concert celebrates the silver anniversary of this program with a wide variety of musical numbers, dances and musical theatre overtures. Faculty members Brent Wagner, Linda Goodrich, Mark Madama direct and choreograph, with Cynthia Kortman Westphal conducting members of the University Symphony Band.

Musical Theatre West Presents Benefit Screening of 'Forever Plaid, the Movie' March 14

Musical Theatre West is honored to present a benefit 'First Look' screening of Forever Plaid, the Movie, starring original 'Plaids' Stan Chandler, David Engel and Larry Raben, as well as Daniel Reichard, best known as the star of the Broadway production of Jersey Boys. The event will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach and will feature a screening of the film proceeded by dinner onstage at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center with the cast, a question and answer session following the screening with cast members and production staff including Forever Plaid creator Stuart Ross, and a dessert reception to cap off the evening.

For the first time in recent memory, every play George Bernard Shaw ever wrote for the stage will be presented to New York audiences. Every sketch, full-length and one-act play will be performed as a concert reading. Each month, a specially assembled, star-studded cast will present a different play - many of which have never before been performed in New York City.

4th Annual Kevin Kline Award Nominees Announced

Twenty-one St. Louis theater companies are represented in the nominations for the fourth annual Kevin Kline Awards. Forty-two plays and musicals produced in the St. Louis area during 2008 now share 113 nominations in 22 different categories for the coveted award. The nominations were announced on KWMU-FM's 'Cityscape' today, January 16th, 2009. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis received the most nominations, 32, divided among seven different productions that were presented on its mainstage, and in both the Studio and Off-Ramp series. The Muny was the second-highest recipient, with 15 nominations. Stages St. Louis was the third theater to receive double-digit nominations, with 13. The satirical comedy The Little Dog Laughed, which was produced by the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis as part of its Off-Ramp series, received the most nominations (8), followed by seven nominations for My Fair Lady at the Muny. Eighty-two actors, directors, choreographers, playwrights and designers received nominations. Six artists received multiple nominations.
