Imagination Stage's Speak Out On Stage Ensemble will perform Fantatics, a musical devised by students in grades 4 through 6, May 29-31, 2015 in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Theatre. Fantatics is conceived by members of the Speak Out On Stage (SOOS) Ensemble, and is written by Jack Novak with original music by Alex Abdoulaev.

Imagination Stage's Musical Theatre Conservatory will perform Urinetown, an acclaimed musical satire, May 15-17, 2015 in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Theatre. Urinetown's book and lyrics are written by Greg Kotis, with music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann.

Imagination Stage's Acting Conservatory will perform She Kills Monsters, a comedic play set in a fantasy world, April 24-26, 2015 in the Christopher and Dana Reeve Theatre. She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen intertwines reality with fantasy to create an introspective look at the warrior within all of us.

Next month, the graduating class of Imagination Stage's Pegasus Ensemble, a teen actor training program of 12 students with cognitive and/or development disabilities, will perform an original script, The Light From Inside. Based on a traditional tale from the Pacific Northwest, this play tells the story of how Light came to the world, and how each one of us can find the power of the Light within.

Rattlestick Playwrights and LaiLou Productions have announced that the world premiere of Shesh Yak, written by Laith Nakli and directed by Bruce McCarty, will begin previews Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South. The official opening night is set for Thursday, January 29, 2015. The production will play through Sunday, February 22, 2015.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. To ignite a global conversation and transform stereotypes, The Raw Beauty Project NYC has partnered with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to showcase an exhibit of photographs featuring twenty women living with various types of disabilities. With 40 students, 19 designers, and three directors spanning three performance groups, Imagination Stage's conservatories and ensemble take the term "recital" to a whole new level. This spring's productions, featuring students in grades 4-11, are all directed by practicing professional theatre artists who are well-respected in the DC-metro theatre scene. This year's directors include Randy Baker, co-artistic director of Rorschach Theatre, Dawn Naser, professor at Howard University's College of Arts and Sciences, and Katie Keddell, arts administrator for Young Audiences/Arts for Learning.
