The Acting Company announces its 2016-17 season and 44th national tour featuring two new gripping dramas in repertory -- the world premiere of Marcus Gardley's X and William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Both will be staged in an exciting artistic and educational collaboration with nearly 30 universities, colleges and community partners. The Company also has announced a five month, monthly Monday night Salon Reading Series in New York City.

The Acting Company honored legendary theatrical director Mark Lamos and distinguished patron of the arts J. Barclay Collins at its annual gala Monday, October 17, at New York's Metropolitan Club, One East 60th St. The event featured cocktails, silent auction, dinner, entertainment and award ceremony. Red Bull Theater presents their 2016-'17 Season kick-off, a special benefit reading and party, tonight, October 10th (7:30pm) at Symphony Space: Moliere's Tartuffe, translated by Richard Wilbur, directed by Marc Vietor (who directed last season's acclaimed The School for Scandal), and starring Bill Camp, Julie Halston, Dana Ivey, Reg Rogers, Derek Smith, and Michael Urie, along with Christian DeMarais, Gretchen Hall, Naomi Lorrain, and Ben Mehl.

Red Bull Theater today announced their 2016-'17 Season will include William Shakespeare's Coriolanus; a new version of Nikolai Gogol's The Government Inspector; as well as an all new season of their acclaimed Revelation Readings featuring Kristine Nielsen (Vanya, Sonya, Masha and Spike), Matthew Rauch ('Banshee'), Derek Smith (Green Bird, Lion King), Christian DeMarais, Gretchen Hall, Ryan Garbayo (Loot), Ben Mehl, Amelia Pedlow ('Tis Pity She's A Whore), Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher), and more. 

With today's news on the passing of playwright Peter Shaffer, The Acting Company will be dedicating their one night only staged reading of Lettice and Lovage on Monday, June 13 at 7 p.m. to his memory.  Angela Lansbury and Dana Ivey will head an all-star cast featuring Patricia Connolly and original Broadway cast member, Paxton Whitehead at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues. 

The Actors' Equity Foundation's 2016 Clarence Derwent Awards for most promising female and male performers on the New York metropolitan scene have gone to Alana Arenas (Head of Passes) and Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen). The announcement was made by Arne Gundersen, president of the Foundation, which administers the awards.

This Sunday (April 24th) marks the opening of Red Bull Theater (Jesse Berger, Artistic Director) production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL, directed by Marc Vietor.

The 6th Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam will be held on Friday, April 22nd from 1-4pm at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Free for the public to attend, the Sonnet Slam features 154 readers of all ages performing all 154 of Shakespeare's Sonnets in numerical order.
