The Winter Park Playhouse continues to sell out performances of the immensely popular Nunsense A-Men! and has scheduled an additional performance Friday, April 20 at 2p.m. to meet the demand.

Nunsense, with book music and lyrics by Dan Goggin, has become quite a cottage industry since its debut off-Broadway in 1985. The original production ran for 3,672 performances, making it the second-longest-running off-Broadway show in history (behind Fantasticks). Since that successful opening, the playwright has concocted six sequels and three spinoffs. A couple of years ago, Desert Theatreworks presented Nunsense: The Mega Musical, one of the spinoffs, which was basically the original five-nun musical expanded to a cast of 17, with a couple of new songs added. They are currently presenting Nunsensations, the fifth of the six sequels.

Near and dear to many in the area, this show is sure to bring on the laughs and will certainly be 'Habit Forming!' Lynn Leimer reprises her role as Mother Superior, a star turn that has long delighted audiences, as she hangs up the habit and retires her company after 25 years. A local legend in her own right, Leimer is grateful for all of the support QNEK has received over the last two decades and looks forward to sharing this show that has meant so much to her and the community one more time.

Terrific New Theatre announces its 32nd season, the second under Artistic Director Tam DeBolt. In September, TNT opens the 2017-18 season with the Charles Busch comedy "The Tribute Artist," and also presents the playwright in a special performance of his own for one night only. In June 2018, the season concludes with the return of TNT co-founder Carl Stewart directing audience favorite Dolores Hydock in a solo performance.
