World-renowned Jazz and Rhythm & Blues Vocalist, Barbara Morrison will present top talent in The 1st Annual Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center Blues Festival to be performed on two stages at the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center (BMPAC), 4305 Degnan Boulevard, #101, Los Angeles, CA 90036 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 18, 19 and 20, 2012.

Last night, May 9, VOCA PEOPLE (www.VocaPeopleNYC.com), the hit musical, welcomed "Police Academy" star and "the man of 10,000 sound effects" Michael Winslow as he joins the VOCA PEOPLE for four select performances through May 20 at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street). Mr. Winslow will perform with VOCA PEOPLE again May 13 at 5:30pm, May 14 at 8pm, May 16 at 7pm and May 17 at 7pm. Following several past summer residencies at Andy's, the CJO returns once again for its annual summer engagement.

As part of "A Moment in Time" Series, The Capitol Center Orchestra, under the direction of Clayton J. Poole, pays tribute to Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong today May 6th at 4:00pm. The tribute features the acclaimed Jazz trumpet Artist Byron Stripling. The performance will be held at the Capitol Center for the Arts with tickets starting at $20.

Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2011-2012 season with a presentation of West Point Band's Jazz Knights tonight, April 29, 2012 at 2pm. This event is FREE.

Catalina Bar & Grill will present "A Birthday Tribute To Billie Holiday" starring Billie Holiday's pianist Corky Hale and singer Freda Payne, with Special Guest, singer Tricia Tahara for One Night Only!!! The Capitol Center for the Arts today announced an exciting lineup of performances for its seventeenth season.

Tickets go on sale today for Lincoln Center's 24th season of Midsummer Night Swing taking place Tuesdays through Saturdays, June 26-July 14. Swing's 15 dazzling nights of dancing, and one free daytime lesson for children, take place at the bandshell and elevated dance floor in Damrosch Park, on West 62nd Street between Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. Midsummer Night Swing offers an array of dance music styles including salsa, swing, tango, rock 'n' roll, and bhangra. Because of the national holiday there will be no Swing on July 4th, so a special Monday night will be added on July 2nd.

This summer, the Hollywood Bowl's Jazz at the Bowl series pays tribute to Ray Charles with a night dedicated to his distinct and versatile artistry.

Red Bank Flavour, a culinary campaign driven by the borough's top chefs, restaurateurs and proprietors, presents, in partnership with Two River Theater, Broadway in Red Bank tonight, Monday, April 16. The event will take place at the Two River Theater and include a palatable selection of cuisine from Red Bank's hottest restaurants and a must-see cabaret performance featuring Broadway's rising stars.

Supported by a superb 10-piece orchestra (including six horn players), Catherine Russell's set at the Allen Room for Jazz at Lincoln Center was a tribute to songs her dad Luis recorded or performed with the great Louis Armstrong from the late 1920s through the 1930s. By the end of her show, Russell had clearly proven that she has become one of the finest interpreters of jazz and blues on the contemporary music scene.
