Formed in 2001, Swing Gitan continues Reinhardt's pioneering style from the 1930's, blending the swing rhythms of early jazz with the dark passion of gypsy music.

NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Ownes will appear at Dizzy's Coca Cola from January 3-8th, 2012, and will perform music from his newest album, The Monk Project. On January 5th, 2012 NEA Jazz Master and recipient of the A.B. Spellman NEA Jazz Masters Award for Jazz Advocacy discusses his career, the NEA, and his just released tribute to Monk CD -- Jimmy Owens: The Monk Project.
