In Cabrillo Music Theatre's new production of Evita, the role of Che, the narrator figure based on Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, is played by Marc Baron Ginsburg. A Philadelphia native, Ginsburg has enjoyed a varied career on both coasts prior to coming to Cabrillo. His favorite roles include Aaron (First Date,) Lord Farquaad (Shrek), Lawrence Jameson (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), and Quixote/Cervantes (Man of La Mancha), among many others. He also played Fagin in Cameron Mackintosh's First National Tour of Oliver! Marc and his wife Liza, who is also a performer, are recent parents of a son, Phoenix, who was born in June. We talked to Marc about his career and his approach to the key role he is playing in Evita.

Stage Door Records are pleased to make available a 'first listen' of the complete track 'I've Always Had A Dream' from the forthcoming album 'Lost West End 2'. The song is from the 1977 musical 'Drake's Dream' which opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre on December 7th 1977 and ran for 82 performances. The track is performed by leading actor / singer (and former lead vocalist of Manfred Mann) Paul Jones.

Ramin Karimloo is a leading man at the forefront of the musical theatre industry worldwide. He is most fondly known for playing the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in Les Miserables. He appeared in the 25th Anniversary celebrations for both productions and has won a multitude of awards, plus nominations for an Olivier award in 2011 and a Tony Award in 2014. Ramin is going to be performing in a one-off solo concert with his band at the London Palladium in July. BWW:UK chats to Ramin about the concert and his future ambitions.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) has introduced the cast of Oliver! This classic comes to life on the stage from April 5 - 17, 2016 in Sarofim Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

Today in 1987, Les Miserables opened at the Broadway Theatre, where it ran for 6680 performances. Written by Claude-Michel Schonberg, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables is set in early 19th-century France. The plot follows the stories of many characters as they struggle for redemption and revolution. An ensemble that includes prostitutes, student revolutionaries, factory workers, and others joins the lead characters. In January 2010, it played its ten-thousandth performance in London, at Queen's Theatre in London's West End. On 3 October 2010, the show celebrated its 25th anniversary with three productions running in the same city: the original show at London's West End; the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary touring production at the original home of the show, the Barbican Centre; and the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary concert at London's O2 Arena. The original Broadway cast included Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean, David Bryant as Marius, Judy Kuhn as Cosette, Michael Maguire as Enjolras, Frances Ruffelle as Eponine, Braden Danner as Gavroche, Donna Vivino as Young Cosette, Jennifer Butt as Madame Thenardier, Leo Burmester as Thenardier, Randy Graff as Fantine, and Terrence Mann as Javert.
