The Segal Centre is proud to announce the 18 person cast of their upcoming world premiere, Prom Queen: The Musical written by Kent Staines with lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal and music by Colleen Dauncey. This original Canadian production will be directed by Marcia Kash and is developed in association with Producer Mary Young Leckie. Inspired by the incredible, true story of Marc Hall, the Ontario teenager who took his Catholic School Board to court when they refused to let him attend prom with his boyfriend, the highly-anticipated new musical will feature both fresh and familiar faces at the Segal Centre fromOctober 27 to November 20, 2016.

Toronto theatre-fans had a real treat last night when Rebecca Caine, the original Christine in Toronto's record-setting run of The Phantom of the Opera (1989-1999), visited SINGular Sensation at Statlers (487 Church St.) to perform a few songs and take in the local talent. Caine is also known for originating the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, as well as her many opera credits. Caine is also the winner for the 2014 BroadwayWorld Toronto Award for Best Cabaret Performance or Solo Concert.

Final casting has been announced for BLAME CANADA!, an evening featuring the best in Canadian musical theatre happening at 54 BELOW on Monday, March 17 at 9:30pm. Cliff Saunders, who currently stars as Thenardier in the revival of Les Miserables on Broadway, hosts the evening that celebrates the launch of the newly formed Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective (CMTWC).
