American Conservatory Theater Associate Artistic Director Andy Donald announced today that three-time Emmy Award-winning comedian Louie Anderson will bring his New York Times-best-selling memoir Dear Dad to A.C.T.'s Strand Theater (1127 Market Street) in an exclusive San Francisco engagement January 10-14, 2018.

Congregation Rodeph Shalom, in association with Burke Cohen Entertainment, presents seven time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner and two-time Tony and Drama Desk Award nominee Johanna Day in a one-night only performance of Jeff Cohen's powerful play The Soap Myth on Wednesday, January 31st at 7 pm at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, (615 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia). The play, directed by Pam Berlin, is part of a tribute to the United Nation's International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27), the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker (www.hiphopnutcracker.com), a contemporary dance spectacle set to Tchaikovsky's timeless music, hits the road this holiday season to 28 U.S. cities. The show will perform in Rochester at RBTL's Auditorium Theatre for one night only on December 20! Produced by the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) with Executive Producer, Eva Price, and co-commissioned by the United Palace of Cultural Arts, The Hip Hop Nutcracker will feature Kurtis Blow, one of hip hop's founding fathers, opening the show in most cities with a short set before rapping the introduction.

The seventh annual MOONTOWER COMEDY FESTIVAL, along with producers the Paramount Theatre and sponsors Cap City Comedy Club, has announced additional comics to the 2018 lineup, including multiple headlining acts performing at Stateside at the Paramount as well as a variety of comedians playing shows at Moontower satellite venues throughout Austin. Seven time Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner and three time Emmy Award and Tony Award-nominee Kate Burton will star in a two-week East Coast tour of concert readings of Jeff Cohen's play The Soap Myth. The readings, which will be directed by Pam Berlin and will also feature Ned Eisenberg & Blair Baker, will serve as a tribute to International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The tour will begin on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Miami Beach Florida, and will conclude on Thursday, February 1 at Hofstra University on Long Island.

Presented by CAPA, the Lincoln Theatre Association, and the King Arts Complex, The Hip Hop Nutcracker is a contemporary re-imagining of Tchaikovsky's timeless music performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, an on-stage DJ, and an electric violinist. In his one-man show, Dear Dad, Anderson recounts his unique upbringing through the touching and outrageous letters he wrote to his late father. In this new work in progress a journey full of laughs, love, and possibilities audiences will have the opportunity to see one of today's top comedians share this powerful story in the intimate Strand Theater. Dear Dad is presented as part of A.C.T.'s @TheStrand series.
