The Toronto International Film Festival has announced fifteen galas and thirty-five special presentations (twenty-five of them world premieres) for this year's festival. Performers in the films include Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Aamir Khan, Ben Affleck, Javier Bardem, Marion Cotillard, Clive Owen, Colin Firth, Juliette Lewis, James McAvoy, Ewan McGregor, Helen Mirren, Edward Norton, Christopher Plummer, Natalie Portman, Om Puri, Ryan Reynolds, Sam Rockwell, Amy Ryan and Hilary Swank, while filmmakers include Robert Redford, Michael Winterbottom, Guillaume Canet, John Cameron Mitchell, Kiran Rao, Mike Mills, Andrucha Waddington, Woody Allen, Sylvain Chomet, Mahamat-Saleh Haroun, Tran Anh Hung, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Mike Leigh, Julian Schnabel and Im Sang-Soo.

Amber Tamblyn has signed on to appear in the upcoming season of HOUSE for a multi-episode story arc. She will play a brilliant and aggressive medical student whom DR. HOUSE (Hugh Laurie) hires as a new team member although she is technically not yet qualified to practice medicine. Tamblyn's character will be confronted with the morally and ethically questionable way that House practices medicine.

The Parisian MAMMA MIA! cast was announced this week, and shortly after appeared in their first photo shoot together. Donna Sheridan will be played by Sophie Delmas, Rosie by Karen Gluck, Tanya by Marion Posta, Sophie by Gaelle Gauthier, Sky by Dan Menasche, Sam by Jerome Pradon, Harry by Patrick Mazet and Bill by Francis Boulogne.

Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, Candy Spelling and The Weinstein Company will present the first-ever Broadway revival of PROMISES, PROMISES this spring at the Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway). Previews will begin on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 with an opening night slated for Sunday, April 25th, 2010. The musical is written by legends Neil Simon (book), Burt Bacharach (music), and Hal David (lyrics). Henson and Matt Dillon also announced finalists for the Acura Someone to Watch Award, the Truer Than Fiction Award, and the Piaget Producers Award. A Serious Man was selected for the Robert Altman Award, which is given to one film's director, casting director and ensemble cast.
