Janet Ellis and Andy Nyman Host Light Up the Lyric's Future June 10

On Thursday 10 June 2010 Janet Ellis (lifelong Lyric supporter and Board Member) and Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories, 2010) will host Light Up the Lyric's Future - a party to celebrate the launch of the Lyric Hammersmith's £15 million capital project that will transform the landscape of Hammersmith and the lives of thousands of disadvantaged young West Londoners.

The event will take place at the Lyric Hammersmith, with dinner being served under the historic proscenium arch theatre. Light Up the Lyric's Future is supported by stars from the stage and screen including Matthew Kelly, Keith Allen (Comedians, 2009), Tom Sturridge (Punk Rock, 2009), Romola Garai (Three Sisters, 2010) the BAFTA award winning actor Colin Firth, BRIT nominated singer songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Sheila Hancock (The Birthday Party, 2008). The party will be attended by many of London's greatest theatre supporters and the movers and shakers of West London with entertainment from stars of former Lyric shows and famous supporters from the arts world. Performers include Sophie Ellis-Bextor, The Feeling and the Olivier award winning Spring Awakening cast with further surprise performers to be announced on the night.

Guests will be invited to take part in an exclusive auction with prizes donated by Lyric supporters. Auction prizes include a Sotheby's exclusive private view experience, tickets to Sister Act with after show drinks with Sheila Hancock, a chance to shadow a Times Sport Journalist as they cover a premiership football game, tickets to the Toy Story 3 London premiere and a chance to star in the Lyric panto, plus many more exclusive priceless experiences.

Janet Ellis has worked extensively in theatre and television, including Doctor Who and The Sweeney, before presenting the BAFTA award-winning children's show Jigsaw followed by Blue Peter. Since then, she's presented numerous programmes on many subjects and provides voice-overs for documentaries, ads and cartoons, including several Mexican gerbils in El Nombre for BBC Education. Janet plays the part of Adelaide in Lynne Truss's Inspector Steine series, and is a regular panellist on The Wright Stuff. She's recently made programmes for BBC Radio 4 about mermaids, Alan Ahlberg, jigsaws, hula-hoops and dragons...the history of Talking Toys follows soon. Janet is currently an agony aunt for Woman and Home magazine, and is writing her first novel.
Andy Nyman is the award-winning co-writer and co-creator of the acclaimed TV productions Derren Brown - Mind Control and Trick of the Mind. He co-wrote and co-directed Derren Brown Live, An Evening of Wonders and Derren's most recent live show - Enigma. Andy also won the Best Entertainment Olivier Award in 2005 for Something Wicked This Way Comes. Andy's acting credits include Channel 4's BAFTA nominated Dead Set and the horror-comedy Severence directed by Christopher Smith. At the Lyric Hammersmith Andy collaborated with Jeremy Dyson to co write and direct the sell-out success Ghost Stories, which transfers to the West End on 25 June 2010.
