JEWISH PLAYS PROJECT and Artistic Director David Winitsky, are pleased to announce the exciting line-up of OPEN: The Festival of New Jewish Theatre. The festival officially opened Tuesday night with a special presentation of True Bible Studies by Robert Askins, directed by Benjamin Kamine as part of Into the Night: Downtown's Tikkun Leil Shavuot at The 14th Street Y. The line-up includes readings of new plays by Ben Gassman, Tom Block, M.J. Kaufman, Lenelle Moise, Lila Feinberg and the featured workshop production of G-d's Honest Truth by Renee Calarco, directed by David Winitsky. OPEN: The Festival of New Jewish Theatre plays a limited engagement June 13th through June 29th, 2014 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street, New York, NY 10003). Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater is extending of the World Premiere of a cautionary tail by christopher oscar peña. a cautionary tail is a play of impossible choices set in a world of magical characters. First generation Chinese-Americans growing up in New York City, Vivienne and Luke confront a confused tangle of family, a diverse array of friends, and their rampant sexuality. In our digital age, how can they navigate the traditional expectations of their mother with their American culture of individuality?

After selling out almost all of its originally scheduled performances, The Flea Theater announces an extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine.
