WILL ON THE HILL Raises $500,000 For Shakespeare Theatre Company

The West Wing's Melissa Fitzgerald, Broadway actor Heath Saunders, Emery Battis Award-winner Victoria Frings and Ken Clark, currently playing King Arthur in Camelot at STC, recently joined Members of Congress and notable Washingtonians onto the stage at Sidney Harman Hall to perform in Will on the Hill. Now in its sixteenth year, the much-loved bipartisan event took place on June 11 and raised $500,000 for the theatre's education and community outreach programs.

Abingdon Theatre Company (Tony Speciale, Artistic Director; Denise Dickens, Producing Director) presents the final main stage production of its 25th Anniversary season, Fruit Trilogy, a new trilogy of plays by Tony Award winner Eve Ensler (The Vagina Monologues, In the Body of the World) and directed by Mark Rosenblatt (world premiere of Fruit Trilogy at West Yorkshire Playhouse, UK; Animal Wisdom, Bushwick Starr). Featuring Kiersey Clemons (Dope, The Only Boy Living In New York, 'Transparent') and Liz Mikel (Lysistrata Jones, NBC's 'Friday Night Lights'), the New York premiere production launches a limited engagement Saturday June 2 at 8PM at the historic Lucille Lortel Theatre Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) in Greenwich Village and runs through June 23. The official opening night is June 7 at 7PM. Performances are Tuesday - Thursday at 7PM, Friday and Saturday at 8PM, with matinees on Saturday at 3PM and Sunday at 2PM.

V-Day Talkbacks Announced at Abingdon's Production of Eve Ensler's FRUIT TRILOGY

V-Day, founded by author, playwright and activist Eve Ensler, presents the V-Day Talkbacks following select performances during Abingdon Theatre Company's New York premiere engagement of Ensler's Fruit Trilogy. The series, will feature activists, artists, and thinkers leading discussions surrounding the play's central themes on the commodification and ownership of women's bodies along with returning to and learning to love the body. Fruit Trilogy is a play that speaks to these explosive times and charts the journey of women, from the disembodiment that comes from violence to the embodiment that comes from self-love.

Screen Actor Jay Huguley Returns To Okoboji Summer Stage In Neil Simon Play

 Returning to the Okoboji Summer Theatre Stage for his third year in a row, award-winning film and television actor Jay Huguley will star in Neil Simon's "I Oughta Be In Pictures," Simon's Broadway play, which premiered in 1980. Huguley most recently performed in the Okoboji's 60th Anniversary Production of "Boeing-Boeing," the 60s era farce comedy, last summer.

Rooftop Films Announces Full 2018 Summer Slate

Rooftop Films is proud to announce our feature film slate for the 2018 Rooftop Films Summer Series, presented by SundanceTV. This year's series will take place May 19th to August 25th featuring more than 45 outdoor screenings in more than a dozen spectacular outdoor venues, with live music, filmmaker appearances, and special enhanced screenings of the best, new, independent films from around the world. The open-air festivities will kick off on Saturday, May 19th, with “This is What We Mean by Short Films,” a collection of some of the most innovative short films of the past year. That screening will take place in the newest Rooftop Films venue, Green-Wood Cemetery.
