Annenberg Center Live And NextMove Dance Present Philadelphia Debut Of Caleb Teicher & Company

Annenberg Center Live and NextMove Dance present the Philadelphia debut of Caleb Teicher & Company, Friday, December 14 (8 PM) and Saturday, December 15 (2 PM and 8 PM). Teicher's signature style of musicality, humor and warmth will shine in Meet Ella, a swing duet set to Ella Fitzgerald, and Variations, a tap piece set to Bach's timeless Goldberg Variations.

Gallim Presents The World Premiere Of TO CREATE A WORLD At The Joyce Theater

Andrea Miller, Artistic Director of Gallim, returns to The Joyce Theater after a year as the choreographer-in-residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Building on her discoveries there, Miller's new work, To Create a World, harnesses the uncompromising virtuosity and raw vulnerability of the Gallim dancers in a provocative study of the human body and its instinct to survive. Performances are February 12-17, 2019 (Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30pm, Thursday-Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm). The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue (at 19th Street), in Manhattan.

Cent. Stage Co. Hosts New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet's THE NUTCRACKER

Adventure awaits when a young girl's dream of a magical Nutcracker hits the stage at the Lackland Performing Arts Center, December 14, 15 and 16 in Hackettstown. Over 45 talented dancers from Northampton, PA, and Hunterdon, Morris, Sussex, Warren counties in NJ and have earned roles in the New Jersey Civic Youth Ballet's (NJCYB) new production of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.

Ailey's 60th Anniversary New York City Center Season Opens Wednesday 11/28

As a centerpiece to its yearlong Ailey Ascending 60th Anniversary celebration and a kickoff to its five-week holiday season, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will host a star-studded gala benefit on Wednesday, November 28th at 7pm, complete with a performance for the ages at New York City Center and dinner-party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. The gala honors Prudential Financial for its generous support and commitment to Ailey for over three decades, especially its educational and community programs.  The Honorary Chairs for the evening are screen icons Angela Bassett and Cicely Tyson. Bassett, a Golden Globe Award winner, stars in the hit television series 9-1-1, and was most recently featured in the 2018 blockbusters Black Panther and Mission: Impossible - Fallout. Tyson - known for a myriad of roles across television and film, including Roots, Fried Green Tomatoes, and most recently How to Get Away With Murder - has received three Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and on November 18th made history as the first black woman to receive an Honorary Academy Award.

A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS Comes to Redhouse This December

The lack of permanence that allows new artists endless chances to bring their own interpretations to classic material is the most significant aspect that separates live theatre from movies and television. But in musical theatre, it's sometimes the case that a director/choreographer such as Jerome Robbins or Bob Fosse may create visuals that become so indelible in the public's mind that they become fixtures of most remountings. Two-Time Grammy Nominee Lebanese-American Tenor Roy Hage Is LOVE SICK

Roy Hage IDEATION PRODUCTIONS is pleased to present LOVE SICK: A ROCK-OPERA, by composer/lyricist Georgia Shreve, directed by James Matthew Daniel. Love Sick: A Rock Opera is performed by seven opera singers and features the six-piece rock band, Contraband, with musical direction by William Day. Love Sick will play four performances Thursday, December 6th through Saturday, December 8th, 2018 at Brooklyn's National Sawdust (80 N 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11249).

It's Snowing Outside And WINTER WONDERETTES Opens Tonight

Walnut Street Theatre's 2018-19 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with the wacky holiday musical revue, WINTER WONDERETTES. Directed by Richard Parison, the production begins with previews on November 13th, opens November 15th, and continues through December 30th.

LOS NUTCRACKERS Comes to BAAD For 15th Anniversary Production

BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance proudly presents Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo, written by Charles Rice-Gonzalez and directed by Fernando Vieira. This year marks the play's 15th anniversary and the first year that Vieira helms the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics, The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and creates a queer, Latino play about a gay couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve. The playdates are November 30, December 1, 6, 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 8pm; Saturday, December 8 at 3pm at BAAD!, 2474 Westchester Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx. Dance Theatre of Harlem to Honor Artistic Director Arthur Mitchell

The 50th Anniversary season of New York City's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem will honor its legendary Founding Artistic Director Arthur Mitchell, who passed away on September 19, 2018, with a memorial service on December 3, 2018 from 5pm-7pm at Riverside Church, 490 Riverside Drive at West 120th Street.
