Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati shines a light on the reality of violence and the beauty of forgiveness with the regional premiere of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a powerful new drama by Kimber Lee.

TheaterWorks presents RELATIVITY, a new play by Mark St. Germain directed by Rob Ruggiero. RELATIVITY is the first show of TheaterWorks 31st Season and will run tonight, October 7, through November 13, 2016.

Destiny of Desire has been called "cheekily charming" (MD Theatre Guide) and "ridiculously funny" (Broadway World) for its fresh take on telenovelas, popular the world over. The latest play by Karen Zacarias, directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela on the Segerstrom Stage, is a co-production with Chicago's Goodman Theatre and is a west coast premiere. Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, now through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is tonight, October 6.

The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle and Washington D.C.'s Shakespeare Theatre Company have announced a phenomenal cast of international renown for their co-production of the haunting musical, The Secret Garden.

25 years after the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical production of Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic children's story The Secret Garden, the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) and the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle will co-present the timeless tale from November 15-December 31 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). The musical is directed by David Armstrong, Artistic Director at The 5th Avenue Theatre, with whom STC is co-producing the production.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park breathes life into three classic stories from literature in fun, innovative and fresh ways for this season's Off the Hill Series. ROBIN HOOD, which chronicles the exploits of the legendary outlaw, will launch the popular family-friendly series this fall, touring to community centers throughout Greater Cincinnati from Sept. 24 through Oct. 30.

Some plays seem ageless, while others are uncannily current. DISGRACED is the kind of play that succeeds in being both timeless and timely. Winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for drama and a 2015 Tony Award nominee for best play, Ayad Akhtar's DISGRACED makes its regional premiere to open the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2016-17 Thompson Shelterhouse season from Sept. 24 through Oct. 23.
