Alison Bolton has joined the staff of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as Director of Orchestra and Hall Operations.

Single-ticket sales for the Santa Barbara Symphony's highly anticipated 2016-17 season will begin Thursday, September 15. The orchestra will present a total of nine programs over the course of its 64th season, which opens October 15 with a performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 featuring singers from throughout the region. All performances will take place at the Granada Theatre, 1214 State Street in Santa Barbara. Tickets can be purchased through the Granada box office, (805) 899-2222.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra welcomes back pianist and legendary Beethoven interpreter Emanuel Ax for its season opening concerts today (7:30 p.m.) and Saturday (8 p.m.) September 8 & 10 at Taft Theatre.

Tickets are now on sale for American Composers Orchestra's (ACO) 40th Anniversary Season, under the leadership of Artistic Director Derek Bermel and Music Director George Manahan. This season includes eight world premieres by a diverse set of composers performed by ACO at Carnegie Hall and Symphony Space, and continues the orchestra's commitment to serve as a catalyst for the creation of new orchestral music, providing unprecedented opportunities for American composers to create new work and for audiences to discover it. Founded in 1977, ACO remains the only orchestra in the world dedicated exclusively to the creation, performance, preservation, and promulgation of music by American composers. To date, ACO has performed music by 800 American composers, including 350 world premieres and newly commissioned works. The Washington Pavilion is excited to welcome the Boston Pops, the most recorded and arguably the most beloved orchestra in the country, to the Mary W. Sommervold Hall at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) has awarded composer Carlos Simon its 2016 Underwood Commission, bringing him a $15,000 purse for a work to be premiered by ACO on May 23, 2017 at Symphony Space in New York City.

The orchestra will present a total of nine programs over the course of its 64th season, including a pair of non-subscription concerts. Series packages start at $62.

The Washington Pavilion is excited to welcome the Boston Pops, the most recorded and arguably the most beloved orchestra in the country, to the Mary W. Sommervold Hall at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017.  Affectionately known as "America's Orchestra", the Boston Pops has chosen Sioux Falls as one if its destinations during its limited Midwest tour. Ticket on-sale dates and pricing will be announced sometime in the near future.

The New York Philharmonic will present two programs of film music in May 2016: a complete screening of Charlie Chaplin's CITY LIGHTS, May 19, 2016 - with the Orchestra performing Chaplin's score live, conducted by Timothy Brock, who restored the score for live performance - and Disney's FANTASIA, May 20-21, 2016 - in which selections from Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 will be screened as the Orchestra performs the music live, led by Assistant Conductor Joshua Gersen, in honor of Fantasia's 75th anniversary.

Tony winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown has rescheduled his concert appearance at The Media Theatre for Wednesday evening May 18 at 7pm. All tickets for his previously scheduled April 9 show will be honored.
