On Monday night, the Dramatists Guild of America hosted its annual Awards Night at the Players Club in New York City. The ceremony was hosted by David Henry Hwang and recognized the works of Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park), John Kander, Fred Ebb and David Thompson (The Scottsboro Boys), Robert Lopez, Trey Parker and Matt Stone (The Book of Mormon), Christopher Durang and Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Paula Vogel. Westport Country Playhouse will present two Script in Hand play readings this autumn with the classic whodunit, 'Dial ‘M' for Murder,' by Frederick Knott, on Monday, November 14, 7 p.m., and the delightfully touching comedy 'Holiday,' by Philip Barry, on Monday, December 12, 7 p.m. Tickets to the one-night-only events are $15.

While a chair he's holding for a special someone sits empty all night, Sam Bendrix tells a classic tale of an era not yet ready for the revolutionary changes on the horizon.
