A group of Asian-American Broadway performers will come together to perform a concert version of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty on May 16 at the York Theatre.
A concert version of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Once On This Island will hit the stage on May 16th at 7:30pm at the York Theatre. The concert will be performed in connection with Asian Heritage Month and will be directed by original cast member Gerry McIntyre. Randy Redd will serve as musical director.

Lee, Deborah Lew, Jose Llana and Ann Sanders will sing in A HELLUVA TOWN, a concert to benefit the documentary film, TRANSCENDING - THE WAT MISAKA STORY and celebrate the release of the DVD. The concert, directed by Tony Award winner Michele Pawk with musical direction by Marco Paguia, will feature songs from the 1946-47 Broadway season.

With films and filmmakers arriving from across the globe, the Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) kicks off its 13th annual event August 4th-9th, 2009. This year 235 feature length, documentary and short films - from 57 countries - will be screened over a six-day period In locations throughout the state, all vying for top awards. Out of over 7,000 film festivals worldwide, RIIFF is one of only 63 Academy Award qualifying Festivals. This year's films have been selected from a record entry base of over 3,000 submissions.
