Poway OnStage and Berkley Hart Announces line-up for April 9th 2016 performance of O' BERKLEY, WHERE HART THOU? at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.

New Jersey Repertory Company, 179 Broadway in Long Branch, has announced the cast of the World Premiere of VILLAINOUS COMPANY by Victor L. Cahn.

The brainchild of Metropolitan Room managing partner Bernie Furshpan, his General Manager Joseph Macchia, and Cabaret Scenes Magazine Publisher Peter Leavy, New York's first International Cabaret Festival (February 17-21) debuted Wednesday night at the Met Room with performances and inductions into the newly established Cabaret Hall of Fame (an actual location for Hall and its memorabilia to be determined at a later date). Clubs hosting this year's festival include The Metropolitan Room, Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, Feinstein's/54 Below, Iridium, Joe's Pub, and Stage 72 (formerly The Triad).

Christine Lavin, prolific (and dang funny) songwriter and performer of the east coast cabaret and folk scenes, creates a hootenanny during her residency at Don't Tell Mama most Wednesday nights in September. Co-hosting the series is Don White, folk singer-songwriter and activist out of Lynhurst, MA. The special guest on the evening of September 9 was LA-based lyricist, singer, producer Hillary Rollins. Each weekly show features a guest with whom Lavin and White will sing and laugh and swap stories. It's a good time.

For the past 13 years, Jim Caruso's Cast Party has been the place for Broadway, jazz and cabaret performers to celebrate and entertain each other. Following a several month absence from the LA scene, (mostly)musicals will make its long-awaited return on Monday, July 6 at the E Spot Lounge with The Heat Is ON! This will be the company's 12th production in a series of themed cabarets. 'We are so excited to be returning to the LA calendar, and to be back in Studio City in the beautiful new E Spot Lounge,' explains producer amy francis schott.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. It was the 7th performance of Marilyn's 8 show sold out run of  "Her Way"  A Salute to Frank Sinatra. The dynamics of the evening made it feel more like a Hockey Play Off Game, with Marilyn scoring goal after goal. The crowd rose to it's feet and cheered after her every song hit the mark of musical perfection.  Then, as it became apparent that Marilyn Maye had conquered all, she was presented with the Stanley Cup. Friars Club Dean Emeritus Freddie Roman was led to the stage by Friar Laura Slutsky and "Marvelous Marilyn" was given the Friars Club Frank Sinatra Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award states:

One of fastest-growing theater companies in the Valley is kicking off a new Cabaret Series featuring multi-award winning vocalist HECTOR CORIS's new solo show Our Own Kind of Universe. The show will be musical directed by Curtis Moeller with a special appearance by Marina Blue Jarrette. The one-night-only performance will take place on Monday, April 6th at 7:30PM at Tempe Center for the Arts (Studio Theatre), 700 W. Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe, AZ 85281. Tickets are $20. Producer Eva Price has announced that Benjamin Scheuer, writer and performer of the gripping, highly acclaimed autobiographical solo show The Lion, has been awarded the 2015 ASCAP Foundation Jamie deRoy & friends Songwriting Award. He will receive a grant of $1,250, which will be presented on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Playing her debut NYC solo show I Came From Jersey For This to a sold out house at 54 Below, Jessica Vosk took the intimate venue by storm. Dazzling audiences with her talent, energy, sincerity, and humor, she put up a perfectly crafted cabaret tribute to her journey from singing with her dad in the living room of their New Jersey home to landing roles on Broadway.
