On Saturday, September 5, 2009 through Monday, September 7, 2009, the Kennedy Center hosts its eighth annual Page-to-Stage New Play Festival, featuring more than 30 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The three-day, Center-wide event offers a series of free readings and open rehearsals of plays and musicals being developed by local, regional, and national playwrights, librettists, and composers.
The New York Musical Theatre Festival, in association with TPTE LLC, will present the New York premiere of TO PAINT THE EARTH, music by Jonathan Portera and words by Daniel Frederick Levin, directed by Michael Bush (Stormy Weather, Based on a Totally True Story), as part of the 5th Annual NY Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). Performances will run September 22nd-Oct 1st.
After a successful first show, Broadway star Lauren Molina will return to the Duplex on Friday, June 1st at 9:30PM for I Dream in Song, singing a variety of musical theatre, jazz, and pop/rock standards as well as her own originals
