The new American musical Allegiance officially opened last night, November 8, at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street, starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables) in her long-awaited return to Broadway, 'Star Trek' icon George Takei in his Broadway debut at age 78, and Broadway and 'Glee' star Telly Leung. Allegiance is the vibrant and unforgettable story of one family's resilience in the face of seemingly-insurmountable odds, inspired by Takei's real-life experience as a Japanese American during World War II. AMC announced today series orders for the scripted dramas 'Halt & Catch Fire' and 'Turn.' This is the first time the network has ordered two scripted series concurrently. Production on each is scheduled for 4th quarter 2013 with both expected to premiere on AMC in 2014.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kerry Bishe will reteam with her 'Argo' co-star Scoot McNairy in an upcoming drama pilot for AMC from Chris Cantwell and Chris Rogers.
