Jasmine Guy, celebrated American star of television, film and Broadway, will join the cast of Pearl Cleage's The Nacirema Society Requests the Honor of Your Presence at a Celebration of Their First One-Hundred Years. This world premiere co-production will be directed by the Alliance's own Susan V. Booth at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival Sept. 24 - Oct. 3 and then at the Alliance Theatre Oct. 20 - Nov. 14.
Georgia Shakespeare announces the World Premiere of The Odyssey: the Journey Home, based on the work of Homer, adapted by Richard Garner and the Associate Artists of Georgia Shakespeare, and directed by Richard Garner. Georgia Shakespeare is pleased to announce its 25th Anniversary Season has been extended to include the return of Shake at the Lake and the holiday show, A Christmas Story.
Georgia Shakespeare will present two productions throughout October, as well as two special events. The theatre will feature performances of JULIUS CAESAR and A BACCHUS AFFAIR, as well as A Roman Holiday Wine Dinner and a Fall Festival on October 31st. In addition, fall classes for students age 10-18 will begin October 17th.

The Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. announced nominations for the 2008-2009 Atlanta professional theatrical season this week to an enthusiastic crowd of patrons, Suzi Judges and theatre industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Actor's Express in their performance space at King Plow Arts Center. Suzi Awards Executive Director Deadra Moore read the list of Nominees while guests enjoyed drinks, hors d'ouevres and the chance to congratulate and mingle with their colleagues in the industry.
