Georgia Shakespeare Presents KING LEAR, 7/9-8/7

By:

Join Georgia Shakespeare as they continue their 25th Anniversary Celebration with KING LEAR. KING LEAR is written by William Shakespeare and directed by Sabin Epstein. The production opens Friday, July 9 at 8:00 p.m. and runs until August 7 at the Conant Performing Arts Center.

A father puts the affections of his three daughters to the test when he chooses to divide his kingdom amongst them, promising the largest piece to the one who "doth love us most." The tragic consequences of his arrogance take their toll, and King Lear finds himself stripped of his grandeur and all that truly matters. Part intimate family drama, part epic journey of the human condition, King Lear is celebrated as one of the greatest works of Western literature.

This production features brief nudity and stars Tim McDonough as King Lear and Chris Kayser as Fool. Please visit www.gashakespeare.org/king_lear for more information.
