Lifeline Theatre welcomes Lavina Jadhwani as Casting Director beginning February 2 marking the transition of the role from a volunteer position to a salaried member of the administrative staff.

Seanachai Theatre Company is pleased to celebrate its 20th anniversary season with an official name change to Irish Theatre of Chicago. The 2014-15 Season will include Conor McPherson's haunting drama SHINING CITY directed by ensemble member Jeff Christian and the world premiere drama THE WHITE ROAD by founding ensemble member Karen Tarjan, directed by ensemble member Robert Kauzlaric.

To accommodate extraordinary ticket demand, Lifeline Theatre announces ten added performances of its Jeff Recommended, critically-acclaimed world premiere adaptation of Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment, by ensemble member Chris Hainsworth, directed by Kevin Theis (two-time Non-Equity Jeff Award nominee).

Monstrous Regiment runs tonight, May 30-July 20 at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave. (free parking and shuttle; see below). Borogravia is at war. Again. When Polly Perks' brother goes missing in action, she cuts off her hair, stuffs a sock down her breeches, and enlists, hoping to find him. Passing successfully as a young man, she soon discovers that she's not alone in protecting a secret and that nothing in the improbable war is as it seems. Scrambling to survive both the enemy and their untried officer, Polly's misfit company makes its way to the front, where it might just prove to be the least likely regiment to ever win a battle. A wickedly funny look at the absurdities of war and ambiguities of identity, brought to life by a cast of eleven actors, including Lifeline Theatre ensemble members Robert Kauzlaric, Katie McLean Hainsworth, and Christopher M. Walsh.

Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, Lifeline Theatre presents Karen Tarjan's adaptation of Michael Shaara's Pulitzer Prize-winning Civil War novel, The Killer Angels (originally commissioned by Lifeline in 2004). The production will be directed by Matt Miller, who joins Lifeline Theatre as a director for the first time. ?A cast of ten actors brings over twenty historical characters to life, led by returning artist Don Benderas General Robert E. In its award-winning and audience-acclaimed style, Lifeline's thirty-first season will feature six unforgettable books brought to life: sprawling, classic stories as well as thrilling contemporary titles, as Lifeline retains its reputation for fresh, imaginative interpretations of beloved favorites and embraces the challenges of new, thought-provoking works. Additionally, Lifeline Theatre will produce the seventeenth annual Fillet of Solo Festival and the Georgette Heyer Reading Series.

Lifeline Theatre presents an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers, by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member Robert Kauzlaric (Non-Equity Jeff Award winner), and directed by 2nd Story Artistic Director Amanda Delheimer Dimond. Kauzlaric's adaptation of The Three Musketeers was originally commissioned by the Illinois Shakespeare Festival in 2010, revised for a 2011 Indiana University production, and will be further developed for its Chicago premiere at Lifeline Theatre.
