The 2022 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Benedict Lombe for her debut play Lava. In a special presentation at Shakespeare's Globe in London, the Blackburn Prize judges presented Lombe with a cash prize of $25,000, and a signed limited-edition print by renowned artist Willem de Kooning, created especially for the Prize. 

Headlong and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse have today announced the complete cast and creative team for Corrina, Corrina, a new play by award-winning Liverpool-based playwright Chloe Moss (Run Sister, Run, Love Liverpool), directed by Headlong’s Artistic Director Holly Race Roughan (Metamorphoses).

Today, Headlong has announced their 2022 Season - the first under new Artistic Director Holly Race Roughan, who will direct two of the upcoming productions this year. Awarded annually since 1977, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the largest and oldest international prize honoring Women+ playwrights.

Jeremy Herrin announced today that after 7 years as Artistic Director of Headlong he will be stepping down in 2020 to pursue a career as a freelance director.
