Following last season?s triumph of Rodgers & Hammerstein?s Carousel, Lyric Stage Founding Producer Steven Jones has reunited director Cheryl Denson and music director Jay Dias for the world premiere of the newly restored The King and I, featuring a 35-piece orchestra playing the original Robert Russell Bennett orchestrations. Performances are June 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27 @ 8:00 PM and June 21 & 28 @ 2:30 PM. Performances are in the Irving Arts Center?s Carpenter Performance Hall, 3333 N. Mac Arthur Blvd,. Irving, Texas. This production is under the direction of Cheryl Denson with music direction by Scott Eckert.
Written by Del Shores, The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife is a tragic-comedy about domestic violence, set in small town trailer-park Texas. The play explores the lives of Willadean Winkler (Cindee Mayfield), her abusive husband J.D. (TA Taylor), her best-friend LaSonia (Laura Warner) and trashy cocktail waitress Rayleen Hobbs (Melissa Jobe). The play is scored around soul-soaring blues songs (sung by Crystal Ramon).

Lyric Stage, Dallas County's only locally produced professional musical theater company, continues its sixteenth season with FIORELLO!, October 10-25, 2008. Performances are Thursday-Saturday evenings @ 8:00 PM with matinees on Sundays @ 2:30 PM. There is also a matinee on Saturday, October 25 @ 2:30 PM.
