8th Annual World Choreography Awards to Be HeldToday

The 8th Annual World Choreography Awards (WCA) will be held on October 23 at The Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. The Choreography Awards, produced and directed by Allen Walls and Cheryl Baxter-Ratliff, are a global awards show celebrating and honoring the best in media choreography. The WCA recognizes choreographic achievement in 8 categories: Motion Picture, Music Video, Commercials, Television Episodic, Television Award Show/Specials, Digital Content, Digital Content Independent and Television Reality Show/Competition.

Photo Flash: Fells Point Corner Theatre Stages STICK FLY

Three families are about to be joined together as the wealthy and well-known African-American LeVay family gathers at their vacation home in Martha's Vineyard. Kent LeVay's fiance Taylor is an academic whose absent father, a prominent public intellectual, makes her less than charmed by the LeVay's posh lifestyle. Flip LeVay's girlfriend Kimber, a WASP (in her own words) who works with inner-city school children, seems to fit in well with the upper-class family.

WAISTWATCHERS Extends Through December 31 in Chicago

WaistWatchers The Musical! is extending its run at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St., through Monday, December 31, 2018. Produced by Dana Matthow and currently featuring two time Grammy Nominee, multi-Gold and Platinum recording artist, Martha Wash, known for singing the powerful anthem "It's Raining Men," and "Everybody Dance Now," the musical takes a lighthearted and hilarious look at women dealing with their relationship to food, friendship and fitness, while celebrating the transformative power of female friendship on the journey to self-acceptance.

The Groundlings Presents Original Digital Halloween Episode

On Monday, October 22, The Groundlings will launch a spooky new episode of their hilarious sketch comedy online video series, Groundlings Originals. The Halloween-themed episode titled "Take One" follows mama bear, Tanya Jones, as she does whatever it takes to get her son some candy. The episode was directed by Alex Staggs, written by Kiel Kennedy and Lyric Lewis, and stars Kiel Kennedy, Lyric Lewis, Michael Churven and Patty Guggenheim.

DANCING WITH THE STARS Presents 'Disney Night'

The nine remaining celebrities are putting on their Mickey ears and getting ready to transform into some of their favorite Disney characters and celebrate the magnificence of "Disney Night" on "Dancing with the Stars," live on MONDAY, OCT. 22 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

Theatre Guild's Next Musical is ZORBA

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will continue their 23rd Anniversary season with Kander and Ebb's haunting musical ZORBA. The one-night-only concert will take place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 7:00 PM.

ABC Owned Television Stations Group Commits to Hiring 20+ Community Journalists Across the Country, Expanding Hyperlocal Coverage in Their Eight Station Markets

This month NY Madness is proud to co-present a Midterm Mayhem! A Doomsday Cabaret, featuring excerpts from the new musical, 'Red Sky'. Red Sky is a parable for our times, and features, Danielle Alonzo, Jonas Barranca, Eden Eernissee, Steven Halliwell, Timothy Mullins, Chuk Obasi, and Ansi Rodriguez. The show will take place on Sunday, October 28th at 8pm at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). November 9th Forever is co-producing this special event. Also featuring Voting Rights activist Victor Pate from the National Action Network.

Amas Musical Theatre To Present BRIDGES: A NEW MUSICAL As Part Of Its 'Dare To Be Different Series'

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) in celebration of its 50th season, will present Bridges:A New Musical, with book & lyrics by Cheryl L. Davis and music by Douglas J. Cohen, the first of four new musicals in development included in this year's "Dare to Be Different" series. Out of the Box Theatrics INTO THE WOODS Extends Off-Broadway

Out of the Box Theatrics, Founder and Producing Artistic Director Elizabeth Flemming, Associate Artistic Director Ethan Paulini will present a brand new revival of Into the Woods. The classic musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Ethan Paulini will direct. Marisa Kirby choreographs with music direction by Anessa Marie. Brian Charles Rooney leads a cast that includes Amara Janae Brady, Gaby Garcia, Alie B. Gorrie, Alicia Krakauer, Alaina Mills, Celena Vera Morgan, Sidney Ronis and Katherine Yacko. Rien Schlecht is the Production Designer and Egypt Dixon is Production Stage Manager.

The production that has had audience members 'burning off pounds just laughing,' according to the Los Angeles Times, WaistWatchers The Musical! makes its Chicago Premiere at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St., this fall. Produced by Dana Matthow and featuring the queen of disco Martha Wash, known for singing the powerful anthem 'It's Raining Men,' and 'Everybody Dance Now,' the musical takes a lighthearted and hilarious look at women dealing with their relationship to food, friendship and fitness, while celebrating the transformative power of female friendship on the journey to self-acceptance. Capturing audiences of all ages from start to finish, the Chicago production begins September 13 for an open run with a press opening September 21, 2018.

Sundance Now's THIS CLOSE Unveils Season Two Guest Star Lineup

Sundance Now, AMC Networks' premium video streaming service, today announced actors Marcia Cross (“Desperate Housewives”), Camryn Manheim (“Waco”), Austin Nichols (“The Walking Dead”), Lisa Rinna (“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”), Margaret Cho (“Bright”) and Millicent Simmonds (A Quiet Place) will guest star in the second season of “This Close.” They will join guest stars Zach Gilford, Colt Prattes, Marlee Matlin, Cheryl Hines, Nyle DiMarco, and Moshe Kasher who will reprise their roles from season one. The expanded second season features eight, 30-minute episodes, and is currently filming in Los Angeles. New episodes will be available on Sundance Now in 2019.

COME FROM AWAY Will Play Newfoundland in Concert

The made-in-Canada phenomenon that is COME FROM AWAY is coming to St. John's. The show that has become the toast of Broadway and Toronto, will play eight benefit performances in a concert version at Holy Heart Theatre from January 23 to 27, 2019. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10 AM (NDT) exclusively through Holy Heart Theatre ticket channels.
