A paradox! A paradox! A most ingenious paradox! Only the ridiculous humor and unpredictable circumstances of Gilbert and Sullivan could make so much sense. In the capable hands and clear diction of Lamplighters Musical Theatre, it is, indeed, a glorious thing to be a pirate king, or the audience of one.

Museum of the Moving Image Opens Exhibit on Animation Director Chuck Jones Today

Animation director and artist Charles Martin 'Chuck' Jones (1912-2002) brought to life some of the most iconic cartoon characters in animation history. He perfected the wisecracking Bugs Bunny and the exasperated Daffy Duck and a host of other characters, including Wile E. Coyote, the Road Runner, and Pepé Le Pew. He brought an unparalleled talent for comic invention and a flair for creating distinctive, memorable characters to the art of film animation. What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones, a new Smithsonian traveling exhibition that explores Jones's creative genius, influences, and legacy, will open at Museum of the Moving Image in New York City today, July 19, 2014 and will be on view through January 19, 2015.

Kansas City Ballet Presents NEW MOVES, Now thru 4/5

Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced New Moves, a unique performance event designed to search out, develop and showcase emerging choreographers, both locally (some within Kansas City Ballet) and from the national dance scene. It is designed to provide time and space for dancers and guest choreographers to create world premiere works. This season's choreographers include four Company dancers Travis Guerin, Anthony Krutzkamp, Charles Martin, and Ian Poulis and two guest choreographers, Erin Novak-Lustig, the artistic director from Seamless Dance Theatre who recently was honored by the Federation of Dance Competitions as its 2013 Humanitarian of the Year, and Ilya Kozadayev, a former soloist with Houston Ballet and currently on faculty with Oklahoma University pursuing his Master's Degree in Choreography.

Alcon Entertainment Orders DOLPHIN TALE 2; Original Cast to Return

Connick, Jr., Freeman, Judd Eye 3-D 'Dolphin Tale' Film

Harry Connick, Jr., Morgan Freeman, and Ashley Judd are in talks to star in Charles Martin Smith's upcoming 3-D 'Dolphin Tale' film, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The plot is based on the true story of Winter, a dolphin who was found off the coast of Florida and brought to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The film will focus on a boy who finds a dolphin who is missing her tail. With the help of some friends, including Connick, Jr. as a veterinarian and Freeman as a doctor, he creates a man-made tail to replace the lost one.

Second Season Of BBC America's BEING HUMAN Premieres 7/24

The highly anticipated second season of BBC AMERICA's co-production, Being Human premieres this July. Russell Tovey, Lenora Crichlow and Aidan Turner return as George, Annie and Mitchell, the three twenty-somethings trying to live as normally as possible despite being a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost. Being Human premieres Saturday, July 24, directly following the Doctor Who season finale.
