BWW Exclusive: Sutton Foster & Hugh Bonneville Join Mormon Tabernacle Choir for Magnificent Christmas Concert

Two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster and television and film star Hugh Bonneville were the special guests at this year's magnificent Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert. The performances were presented free of charge as a gift to the community Thursday, Dec. 14 through Saturday, Dec. 16 at the impressive 21,000-seat Conference Center. The concert will air nationwide on PBS and BYUtv during the 2018 holiday season, and a DVD and album will also be released. BroadwayWorld was generously given unprecedented access to the production, including the opportunity to speak with Foster, Bonneville, and conductor Mack Wilberg.

Gelsey Kirkland Ballet Presents RUSSIAN TREASURES

Recently, the esteemed Gelsey Kirkland Ballet has become the headquarters for lesser known pieces from some of the greatest Russian choreographers of all time. Continuing this tradition, Gelsey Kirkland Ballet announced today the next program of its 2016/2017 season will be Russian Treasures featuring Marius Petipa's hilarious one-act comedy Cavalry Halt, as well as pieces by Leonid Yakobson, Leonid Lavrovsky, and Kasyan Goleizovsky.

Sarasota Opera Announces 2017 HD AT THE OPERA HOUSE Series

Sarasota Opera is pleased to announce the line-up for the 2017 season of 'HD at the Opera House'.  This weekly Sunday afternoon series of filmed performances, which debuted in 2014, has allowed Sarasota Opera to expand its programming from the fall and winter season to year-around.

Gelsey Kirkland Ballet is thrilled to announce that the second program of its 2016/2017 season,Eternal Spring - The Arrows and Errors of Eros, will be presented Friday, March 24 at 7:30pm,Saturday, March 25 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, March 26 at 2pm, with a preview performance onThursday, March 23 at 7:30pm. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents The Suzanne Farrell Ballet

Celebrating its 15th Anniversary season, the Kennedy Center's own The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, returns to the Eisenhower Theater stage for four performances, October 21-23, with an expansive all-Balanchine program. Including two large-scale company premieres, one of which is a revival of the rarely performed work Gounod Symphony and the patriotic Stars and Stripes, the program also features the return of an audience favorite, Danses Concertantes. All performances will be accompanied by the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.

The Chicago Philharmonic's 2016-17 season, Love, begins with a concert exploring 'Legendary Lovers' as depicted in music. Couples including Romeo & Juliet, Ruslan & Ludmila, and Tristan & Isolde all feature. Emily Birsan and John Irvin, Ryan Opera Center alumni recently heard at the Lyric Opera, sing duets by Verdi, Bernstein, and Gounod, and the orchestra performs symphonic works by Ravel, Wagner, Glinka, and Diamond. The Belle Harmonie harp duo, featuring Krista Hagglund and Anna Hirons of the Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, will perform in the foyer before the concert.

The Suzanne Farrell Ballet performed a staging-in-process showing of the second movement of the rarely seen George Balanchine ballet, Gounod Symphony, on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the NYU Skirball Center. Presented in collaboration with The Center for Ballet and the Arts at New York University, the revived work will premiere in full at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.  October 21-23, 2016
