Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Presents HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON Musical Adaptation, 11/8 - 11/14

Pittsburgh International Children's Theater, a division of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, will present a musical adaptation of Harold and the Purple Crayon by The Enchantment Theatre Company (USA) from Sunday, November 8 through Saturday, November 14, 2009 at six locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. Prince Music Theater Gets Star Treatment: Mary Jane Houdina to Speak at FOLLIES Intermission, 10/24

Mary Jane Houdina, a member of the original 1971 cast of the Tony Award-winning Stephen Sondheim / James Goldman masterpiece 'Follies' will speak during the intermission of the performance on Saturday, October 24 at 8 p.m. at the Prince Music Theater. She will be interviewed by David Anthony Fox, a member of the Brind School faculty who writes theater criticism for the Philadelphia City Paper.

Sondheim's FOLLIES Comes To Philly, Presented By The Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts 10/23-24

Students and faculty from the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts will collaborate in the presentation of the Philadelphia premiere the Tony Award-winning Stephen Sondheim / James Goldman masterpiece 'Follies.' Regarded by many as the apex of the American musical, 'Follies' will be presented on October 23 - 24 at 8 p.m. at the Prince Music Theater (1412 Chestnut St.).

Enchantment Theatre Company Brings THE ADVENTURES OF HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON To The Jorgensen Center The Performing Arts On 10/18

"One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight," begins this enchanting story. But there was no moon that night, so the resourceful tot draws one, as well as a path to follow, with his large, purple crayon. On Sunday, October 18, at 1 and 3 pm, that path leads directly to Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, as Enchantment Theatre Company brings Harold's creative journey to life as part of the Jorgensen Children's Series, supported by Bank of America.

'This Thing Called Love' Gets Workshop This July At Philly Music Theater Works

Recent graduate of the musical theater program at the University of the Arts, Joey Contreras will receive a workshop of his musical This Thing Called Love this July at Philadelphia Music Theater Works. Contreras, a bright-eyed twenty two year old who hails from Northern California, recently had a concert version of This Thing Called Love presented at UArts in May featuring the talents of Natalie Weiss (Wicked), Philip Drennen (Altar Boyz) and various UArts musical theater students and recent alumni.

Beavercreek Community Theatre Presents Sondheim's Assassins 6/19-6/28

'Assassins,' BCT's final show of the 2008-2009, is being presented by Edge of the Creek Productions, BCT's production arm dedicated to presenting more adult shows than the mainstream BCT productions. The show, at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays from June 19 to June 28, lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or attempted to assassinate a president of the United States.

School of Theatre Arts To Open Laurie Beechman Cabaret Theatre

The School of Theatre Arts at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia will open the Laurie Beechman Cabaret Theatre at the Arts Bank Theatre with ' Soiree Parisienne,' a cabaret revue that will run from September 18 - 21, 2008.
