Musicians On Call (MOC), a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country, kicked off a first-of-its-kind, four city Rock The Room Tour (RTRT) in Nashville last week raising over $130,000 with the help of some of the biggest names in Country music including Reba, Martina McBride, Kelsea Ballerini, Charles Esten and honoring Warner Music Nashville's Vice President & Creative Director Shane Tarleton. The next stop on the tour will be Los Angeles, with an event to be held Today, December 1st at Greystone Manor that will honor Phil Guerini, Vice President, Music Strategy Disney Channels Worldwide and General Manager - Radio Disney Networks with a “Golden Ukelele” for the Leadership in Music Award. The event will also honor longtime MOC advocate Rachel Platten with the Music Heals Award for her volunteer work performing for patients at over 50 MOC programs.

Deadline reports that Jessy Schram has signed on to the cast of ABC's NASHVILLE in a recurring role. The actress is scheduled to appear in at least eight episodes.

Wednesday night's Season 4 premiere of ABC's NASHVILLE brought a heavy helping of the show's soapy best and worst. I make no bones about the fact that when it comes to TV, I have a few guilty pleasures; one is this country music, primetime soap opera, and another is ABC's lone remaining honest-to-goodness soap opera, GENERAL HOSPITAL. While NASHVILLE opens up its season with a heaping helping of delicious melodrama, I find myself becoming increasingly weary of the repetitive storylines that the show has been stuck in for the past season-plus. I think if Callie Khouri and her writers leaned in and fully embraced the show's soapy nature, it might result in a more fresh and creative product. So, I have come up with five soap-inspired rules that I think will help the NASHVILLE writers as they plot out the rest of the season.

So it's no coincidence that they play singer-songwriters on the nighttime soap about the lives and loves of country musicians. Esten and Bowen have been writing and singing for a long time, and, thanks to the launching pad that 'Nashville' has provided, they've been scoring slots at the Stagecoach festival and opening gigs for artists such as Alan Jackson and Dierks Bentley. The Ancient Mariner will make it a great night out by pouring a complimentary glass of wine with dinner before the show when tickets are presented.
