Musicians On Call (MOC), a groundbreaking nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the country, kicked off a first-of-its-kind, four city Rock The Room Tour (RTRT) in Nashville last week raising over $130,000 with the help of some of the biggest names in Country music including Reba, Martina McBride, Kelsea Ballerini, Charles Esten and honoring Warner Music Nashville's Vice President & Creative Director Shane Tarleton. The next stop on the tour will be Los Angeles, with an event to be held Tuesday, December 1st at Greystone Manor that will honor Phil Guerini, Vice President, Music Strategy Disney Channels Worldwide and General Manager - Radio Disney Networks with a "Golden Ukelele" for the Leadership in Music Award. The event will also honor longtime MOC advocate Rachel Platten with the Music Heals Award for her volunteer work performing for patients at over 50 MOC programs.

The Los Angeles Rock The Room Tour event will feature special acoustic performances by Platten, whose double-Platinum RIAA Certified and #1 hit single "Fight Song" has become a powerful anthem worldwide, as well as Capitol Records recording artist and breakout star Tori Kelly, whose freshman album Unbreakable Smile recently debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and who has been delivering show stopping performances at this year's Billboard Music Awards, BET Awards, and MTV VMA's and European Music Awards. The Rock The Room Tour was created to raise awareness of the impact music has on healing, honor leaders in entertainment and philanthropy and raise funds for Musicians On Call in order to continue making a difference in the lives of patients through its unique "bedside tours" in hospitals.

This event is particularly special because it will also honor Kenli and Daniela Mattus with the Volunteer Musicians Award and Volunteer Guide Award respectively. Kenli Mattus was the first Volunteer Musician to start Musicians On Call in New York in 1999 and he moved with his wife Daniela Mattus to Los Angeles in 2012 to start the MOC program there. Daniela is now the Manager of West Coast Music Programs for MOC, where the healing power of music has been delivered to 9,000 patients, families and caregivers.

"I have volunteered for Musicians On Call for the past 12 years because of the incredible one-on-one experiences in hospital rooms when no one other than the patient and I would remember the love that was exchanged," said Rachel. "It's amazing and an honor to be recognized for the fulfilling work I get to do. Music truly heals, and I am so grateful to have learned that through Musicians On Call."

"Radio Disney is proud to join forces with Musicians On Call to deliver the healing power of music to the bedsides of patients across the country," said Phil Guerini. "I am deeply honored to receive this Leadership In Music recognition on behalf of Radio Disney for the work that we've done, and are doing, and the important work still ahead of us to bring the healing power of live and recorded music bedside to more patients, children's hospitals, adult facilities, VA hospitals and hospices, with the help of our family of Artist supporters and Corporate Partners."

"We're delighted to be hosting our first event in Los Angeles, a community that has really embraced our programs over the years," said Pete Griffin, Musicians On Call President. "The Rock The Room Tour is already exceeding our expectations and it's going to be a special night honoring our LA champions Rachel, Phil, Kenli, and Daniela and hearing intimate performances by such talented rising stars as Tori Kelly and Rachel Platten."

The Rock The Room Tour is celebrating Musicians On Call's impact in four major markets including Nashville, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and New York with special events honoring those who have showed tremendous support for the nonprofit organization. The artist and honorees for Washington, D.C. and New York will be announced soon.
