Stars of Broadway's Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical are set to take stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse for a night full of songs and stories! The Doo Wop Project is an homage to classic Doo Wop and the music that was inspired by that sound.

The full lineup is set for the 13th installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, Broadway Sings Beyonce, which will feature completely new arrangements of her record-breaking hits, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations. Newly announced performers for the concert include Tony Nominee Charl Brown (Motown), Lilli Cooper (Spring Awakening), Lesli Margherita (Matilda The Musical), and Kyle Taylor Parker (Kinky Boots).
A reading/showcase of Two Lost Worlds, a new musical written and conceived by Sinclair Mitchell, will be presented at Pearl Studios on October 24th & 25th, 2016 at 2 p.m. to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Just last night, Broadway's best came out for a special screening of Florence Foster Jenkins. Hosted by Colman Domingo, Cynthia Erivo, Patina Miller, Matthew Morrison, and Max von Essen, the evening celebrated Paramount's new film, which hits theatres on August 12.
Actor Obioma Ugoala has appeared in numerous RSC productions, including Richard II, Henry IV Part 1 & II and Henry V, as well Holy Warriors at the Globe and The Physicists at the Donmar. His screen credits include Doctors on the BBC and Disney's upcoming live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. He has recently joined the West End cast of Motown the Musical, playing soul legend Smokey Robinson.
?The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Erich Bergen will be joined by several special guests at his Hippodrome shows on 27th June. Joining Erich for his London concert debut will be Cassidy Janson, currently starring as Carole King in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on the West End, and Charl Brown, currently starring as Smokey Robinson in Motown: The Musical on the West End.
MOTOWN is getting a new Smokey! Not only that, but the Daily Mail writes that the West End production of Motown the Musical is extending through October 2017. Obioma Ugoala will join the cast as 'Smokey Robinson' starting July 4, 2016.
