The Manhattan Association of Cabarets (MAC) has announced that Kevin Kelso (music) and Hillary Rollins (lyrics) are the winners of MAC's 2023 Dottie Burman Award songwriting competition, and that Sonya Hayden (music and lyrics) is the winner of MAC's 2023 John Wallowitch Award songwriting competition. The winners will share in the $500 award that comes with each of the two competitions.

Singer/actress/songwriter/author/teacher Harriet Schock has had an incredible career in composing for TV and film. She still performs in live concerts around the globe, gives master classes in songwriting and is lauded for her great skill and humanity in writing songs that resonate with the human spirit. 'Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady' and 'First Time on a Ferris Wheel' are but two of her magnificent hit pop songs. In our conversation she really digs deep to help us understand and feel the songwriting process.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) announced the winners of the 2019 TRU Voices New Musicals Reading Series: Miracolo by Jarlath Barsanti-Jacobs and Emilio Solla; and Seeing Red by Joey Mazzarino and Aron Accurso.The two musicals will be performed on Monday evening January 14th and Monday evening February 4th respectively. The award-winning SkyPilot Theatre Company hits the Hollywood Fringe Festival this June (2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th and 17th) with The Bitch is Back: An Elton John Cabaret, a high energy, exuberant, over-the-top look at the music of the legendary Elton John from his beginnings to the 90s.  Audiences will dance and sing along to their favorite hits delivered in a whole new exciting way!  Performances will be at the Three Clubs (1123 N.
