Tthe 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone will host the awards ceremony.

On Monday, May 10, Broadway performer Kevin Crewell will host television and Broadway stars: Donna McKechnie, Mary Beth Peil, Karen Mason, Nicholas Rodriguez, Will Chase, Paige Davis, Chad Kimball, Aaron Lazar, Felicia Finley, Christiane Noll, Robert Petkoff, the JERSEY BOYS/chicago company along with others in the upcoming benefit concert, SING FOR MY SISTER. The audience members attending the April 17th 2 PM performance of Memphis were given an extra special treat when Ramon Castro got on stage and proposed to his girlfriend Celeste Sanders. Castro quoted the show asking Sanders if she would be the woman to pick out his clothes for the rest of his life, a line used by Huey Calhoun.

The original musical MEMPHIS celebrated the retail release of their Original Cast Recording with an in-store performance and CD signing at Barnes and Noble Lincoln Center this week. The event featured musical performances by stars Chad Kimball, Montego Glover, Derrick Baskin, J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart and Cass Morgan. Following the performance, the cast signed CDs along with creative team members David Bryan, Joe DiPietro, and Sergio Trujillo.
