Profiles Theatre announces the Midwest premiere of Sweet and Sad by Richard Nelson will open the company's 2012-2013 season. Sweet and Sad, directed by Joe Jahraus and featuring Co-Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox, runs August 17, 2012 - October 7, 2012, with the press opening on Friday, August 24 at 8:00 pm. Performances are held at Profiles newest venue, The Main Stage, 4139 N. Broadway. The previously announced production of Blood From a Stone by Tommy Nohilly has been canceled.

Partial Comfort Productions presents its 8th annual WELCOME MAT READING SERIES of new plays, running through tonight, May 7, at Atlantic Theater Company's Studio Theater (330 W 16th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The last production is THE MORNING THE SUN FELL DOWN by Jonathan Caren.

Caps Lock Theatre will present The Foreplay Play by award-winning playwright Mariah MacCarthy from April 19 to May 6, 2012. It will run Thursday - Sunday at 8:00. This dark comedy is set in an apartment in Brooklyn, which is also the venue for this production directed by Leta Tremblay. In The Foreplay Play, a lesbian couple and a straight couple attempt a foursome with disastrous results.

Partial Comfort Productions presents its 8th annual WELCOME MAT READING SERIES of new plays. The four-week series will be staged at Atlantic Theater Company's Studio Theater (330 W 16th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) beginning tonight, April 16.

Artistic Directors Joe Jahraus and Darrell W. Cox have announced Profiles Theatre's 2012 - 2013 Season. They also announced that acclaimed playwright Neil LaBute and Steppenwolf ensemble member Rick Snyder joined Profiles as Resident Artists. Five productions are planned for the upcoming 24th season, including the Midwest premieres of the award-winning Blood from a Stone in a newly revised version by playwright Tommy Nohilly, After by Chad Beckim, The Dream of the Burning Boy by David West Read and the Midwest premiere of Neil LaBute's controversial 2010 play The Break of Noon revised exclusively for Profiles Theatre. Additionally, one of Chicago theatre's longest running hits, Hellcab by Will Kern, returns for its 20th Anniversary production. These five productions alternate between Profiles' two venues, The Main Stage at 4139 N. Broadway and The Alley Stage at 4147 N. Broadway.
