As part of The Second City's 50th Anniversary celebration in December, The Second City is proud to announce that tickets will go on sale Monday, September 14th, at 10:00am for the SCTV Reunion Show for one night only on Friday, December 11th.

The Second City - the timeless producer of improvisational based comedy - celebrates its milestone 50th Anniversary this fall with a series of events and happenings that will bring together alumni, recreate renowned sketches and characters, and bring the history of the theatre to life. During the weekend of December 11-13, the theatre's home on Wells Street in Chicago will serve as an historic backdrop for celebratory alumni reunion performances, panels and screenings.

All proceeds will go to assist Ms. Sindelar in attending workshops with the famed Second City in Chicago. Ticket prices are $15 for adults. Please call 345-1676 for reservations.

Famous People Players Dine and Dream Theatre announces Leave The Porchlight On for 1/2009-4/2009. This show is an inspiring black-light musical based on the true evolution of Famous PEOPLE Players. Troubled youngster Chloe, a wildflower, is sent to perform community service with the troupe. Chloe's relationship with Famous PEOPLE Players, though difficult at times, shows her that hope can survive and flourish in the most unexpected of places. Something as small as the beam from a single porch light can make the difference to a soul, searching for care and guidance.* Character voices by Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Nathan Lane, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Michael Burgess and Catherine McKinnon. The Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills, 8440 Wilshire Boulevard; Beverly Hills, CA 90211, will open its doors to the general public on Sunday, September 21, 2008, after being closed for several months for completion of Phase I of the historic venue's Revitalization Project. Corky Hale Productions will present a star-studded musical event, entitled, 'It's Magic! A Tribute to Sammy Cahn' celebrating the life and lyrics of one of Hollywood's greatest Academy Awardâ-winning songwriters.
Production begins in Connecticut this week on an untitled contemporary comedy directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes (American Beauty) from an original screenplay by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida. The film is being produced and co-financed by Big Beach, with Focus Features co-financing and distributing worldwide.
A holiday tradition continues this Halloween when Tim Burton's classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas, makes a return to the big screen in stunning Disney Digital 3.
The recipients of the National Board of Review Awards, which will be presented on January 9th in New York, have been announced.
