With direction by Pam Mackinnon, the four-member cast features Jennifer Westfeldt as Emma with Raul Castillo as Alejandro, Isabel Keating as Lydia, and Christina Kirk as Tess. Performances began Tuesday, July 28, 2009 for a limited run through Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).

The Fratti-Newman Contest is the only contest in the United States designed to encourage and find new scripts that engage the political/social/cultural questions impacting on the world today.

The off-Broadway Castillo Theatre (www.castillo.org) presents the comedy improv adventure , This is Your Ridiculous Life, conceived by Fred Newman and directed by David Nackman. It's improv with a psychological twist.

ABroad Stage Company (ABSCo) is gearing up for its debut performance of Jose Rivera?s new version of his best-known play, ?References To Salvador Dali Make Me Hot,? which originally premiered at The Public Theater in 2000. Directed by Pippin Parker, the play will open on Friday, July 10, at the New School for Drama Theater at 151 Bank Street, in the West Village.

The San Francisco Playhouse, BlueRare Productions, and PlayGround team to present the SF Playhouse's critically acclaimed production of Abraham Lincoln's Big Gay Dance Party, by Aaron Loeb, directed by Chris Smith, as part of the13th Annual New York International Fringe Festival, thus furthering an SF Playhouse goal to deliver productions that can succeed on a national level. Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre will present the final reading in the Gurfein Foundation/Ntozake Shange Play Reading Series: Derek Walcott's new play Marie Laveau, with music by Galt MacDermot.
