Brode and Executive Producer Tom Viertel just announced that the hit 1982 Tony nominated Best Musical PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES will return to Broadway this spring at a theatre to be announced. Conceived and written by the original company, John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Tony Award winner Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann, PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES will be presented in a new production with direction and musical staging by Tony Award winner John Doyle.
The 2010 Tony Award-winning Best Musical MEMPHIS will play its final performance on Broadway today, August 5, 2012, after 30 previews and 1,166 regular performances. MEMPHIS opened on October 19, 2009 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre (225 W. 44th Street), having begun previews on September 23rd. First up was Roadside, with Book & Lyrics by Tom Jones and Music by Harvey Schmidt. Directed by David Glenn Armstrong, the cast featured original Roadside cast member Ryan Alexander, Erick Devine (Seussical), Janine DiVita (Odyssey, The Musical), Jamie LaVerdiere (The Producers), Daniel C. Levine (Les Miserables), Ed Watts (The Fantasticks) and Nick Wyman (The Phantom of the Opera).
