The Detroit Repertory Theatre, Michigan's longest running, nonprofit, professional (union) theatre, is excited to announce its 62nd Season. The four plays on the 2018/19 season include two world premieres and two midwest premieres. All four will open hearts and challenge the minds of the diverse audience that represents Southeast Michigan. The four plays are Evidence of Things Unseen by Katie Forgette, The House on Poe Street by Fengar Gael, Aubrey by Joe Musso, and Williston by Adam Seidel.
Theatre NOVA, Ann Arbor's professional theatre with an exclusive focus on new plays and playwrights, presents their semi-annual Michigan Playwrights Festival, now in its third year. Five new plays by Michigan playwrights will be given readings July 25-29, 2018.

The Detroit Repertory Theatre is excited to announce a first ever neighborhood Arts & Culture Festival at its home in the geographical center of Detroit on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10:30 am to 8 pm. This outdoor festival will begin with children's theatre and interactive arts activities, and continue all day, with live music, scenes from the upcoming Detroit Repertory season, community initiatives that include bike repair demonstrations and giveaways for children, gardening demonstrations, a health clinic, a playwriting workshop, dance and yoga classes, a basketball tournament, and more.

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $82 million to fund local arts projects across the country in the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017. Though it is the shortest month of the year, it is a busy one at Performance Network. For starters, the second slot in the 20142015 season, the powerful yet heartwarming 'Yellowman,' will close February 15 after rave reviews from critics and patrons alike. On February 17, the free class demonstration that was originally scheduled for February 2, will take place at 7:30pm. The Wednesday Night Concert Series, now known as the Open Table Series, will have two readings on February 11 and 25, and then on February 18, the Arts Alliance will present a Creative Connections event at the Network from 5pm to 7pm featuring the Ann Arbor Film Festival.
