Just in time for the holidays, on November 29th the Provincetown Theater (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA) is set to open its final major offering of the 2018 season, the joyous musical memoir Always… Patsy Cline. Based on a true story, and featuring 27 hit songs from the legendary star, Always… Patsy Cline* follows the special friendship between the country-music icon and her devoted fan Louise Seger, who became a longtime pen pal and trusted confidante of Patsy. The production, running thru December 16th, stars Julia Salinger (from The Laramie Project) as Louise, and Laura Cappello (from You Can't Take It with You) returning to the title role - which, when she performed it on Cape Cod several years ago, the Cape Cod Times raved "Laura Cappello IS Patsy Cline." In Provincetown, it will be directed by David Drake, with musical direction from John Thomas, who'll head up the band.
Hailed by The New York Times as one of the "25 Best American Plays since Angels in America," The Laramie Project will open on October 11, 2018 at the Birthplace of American Theater, the Provincetown Theater in Provincetown, MA helmed by one of its creators, Leigh Fondakowski, Head Writer of Moises Kaufman's Tectonic Theater Project.

Genius and jealousy take center stage in Peter Shaffer's award-winning play, 'Amadeus'. The highly-stylized theater piece follows the re-imagined rivalry between composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri.
Oscar Wilde's wildly controversial "Salome" will be presented May 4 to May 20 at The Provincetown Theater. Written in 1891, the play was quickly condemned as a blasphemous take on The Old Testament tale of Salome, and banned in England for the next forty years. The play is full of religious mysticism, prophecy and superstition. Its characters mull over ideas about religious belief, morality, the ruling class, and especially human lust and sexual desire. Wilde's lyrical text mates image-rich cadences and repetitions with the narcissistic, violent and sexually-charged appetites of the play's central characters.
Many of you may be familiar with The Woman in Black due to it being the second longest running play in London's West End (twenty-nine years strong), or perhaps you were pretty spooked by the 2012 film starring Daniel Radcliffe. However you were lured to see this production, Susan Hill's and Stephen Mallatratt's simple masterpiece of a true English horror story, one without gore or unnecessary violence, really makes for quite an intriguing production. Directed by Damian Baldet, who appeared in last season's Outside Mullingar, Cape Rep's The Woman in Black tests our mental reflexes as the battle between belief and disbelief ensues - as the senses are both heightened and chilled by the story surrounding this mysterious woman who haunts and kills, and who is scaring more than just the superstitious townspeople.
Cape Rep Theatre is proud to present The Woman in Black by Stephen Mallatratt and Susan Hill, September 15 through October 16: Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm; there are no performances on September 18 or 21. Tickets are $28. Pay-What-You-Can-Night is the first Friday, September 16. Group rates & Student Rush tickets also available. Call the box office for details. Cape Rep Indoor Theater. Written by British playwright Mike Bartlett and directed by Jeffry George, Cock comes to WHAT's stage and continues in the tradition of bringing very heartfelt, existentially direct productions to a Cape Cod audience. With such a blunt title as this play is given, the audience risks coming to an immediate conclusion as to what they are to expect in the coming hours; yet, WHAT's repertoire has thrown quite a few surprises everyone's way thus far by making the title's become primary themes of what is about to ensue - that which envelops the play/musical and its characters, whether or not it is tangibly on stage for the duration of the show. So saying, Cock is more about externalizing what is typically an internal battle: one with ourselves.
