New York Theatre Barn will present the next installment of their New Works Series, featuring musical theater writers Michael Cooper and Timothy Huang on Monday, June 23rd at 7:30pm at the DR2 Theatre (Daryl Roth Theatre, 101 E. 15th Street).

The Dogs of Desire, Albany Symphony Orchestra's groundbreaking chamber ensemble, will present the world premiere of composer David Mallamud's new work, "Glam Guignonl," with libretto by Rochelle Bright ("Donny Vomit") and Michael Cooper ("Lizardman").

Jessica Chastain will take on the role of screen legend Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik's upcoming biopic, BLONDE.

The Directors Company in association with Chase Miskin will present a musical reading of 'ELIOT NESS...' book by Peter Ullian, music and lyrics by Robert Lindsey-Nassif, original co-adaptation by Nick Corley, musical direction by Adam Souza and directed by Michael Parva today, April 8, 2014 at 3:00pm and Thursday, April 10 at 12:00pm and 3:00pm. The reading is being presented at New 42nd Street Studios.

As a featured event of its Tenth Anniversary Spring Rep season, Phoenix Theatre Ensemble (www.PhoenixTheatreEnsemble.org) will present 'Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth' by Tom Stoppard from May 2 to 23, 2014 at The Wild Project 195 E. 3rd Street (at Ave. B). It's an evening of two short plays in which Stoppard radically shortens 'Hamlet' and 'Macbeth' to craft a witty Shakespearean two-step on serious themes of artistic dissent. Kevin Confoy directs.

Every Five Minutes begins with a simple homecoming dinner that takes a fantastical turn as Mo slips into a dreamscape that even those closest to him can't imagine.

Award-winning actors Bill Connington (ZOMBIE) and AnnMarie Benedict (ROBESON) appeared in a sold-out performance of LOVE LETTERS that benefitted historic Van Cortlandt House in Van Cortlandt Park. The standing-room-only crowd at the Colonial Dames Museum House gave a standing ovation for this beloved classic by A.R. Gurney. The evening was produced by Razors Edge Productions, and was directed by Dan Cordle, who has collaborated several times with Connington and Benedict.

Edward Albee, three-time Pulitzer Prize and two-time Tony Award-winning playwright, will be recognized with the 2013 Chicago Tribune Literary Prize for lifetime achievement. The prize will be awarded tonight, November 3 as part of a day of literary events co-presented by the Chicago Tribune's Printers Row program and the 24th annual Chicago Humanities Festival.

According to The New York Times, Rev. Sidney Lanier, an experimental stage producer, passed away on Sept. 23 in Santa Barbara, Calif. He was 90.
