Clyde Alves, who currently stars as Ozzie in the Broadway revival of On The Town, hosts the evening that celebrates work by members of the Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective (CMTWC).

The Canadians are back! 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents BLAME CANADA! Join us for an evening of the best in Canadian musical theatre as we present a concert of songs by members of the Canadian Musical Theatre Writers Collective (CMTWC). This year BLAME CANADA! is going global, with concerts in New York City, Toronto, Vancouver, and London. Founded by Landon Braverman and Joseph Trefler, CMTWC is a new national organization devoted to supporting and promoting the work of Canadian musical theatre writers both at home and abroad.

The Second National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, broke the house record in its first week of performances at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe). The show grossed $1,493,961 for the week ending December 16. THE BOOK OF MORMON began performances on December 11, 2012, with performances now extended through September 8, 2013.

Broadway In Chicago and the producers of the new musical THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, announced today that tickets will be available for 14 additional weeks of performances of THE BOOK OF MORMON at the Bank of America Theatre (18 West Monroe). A new block of tickets for performances June 4 - September 8, 2013 will go on-sale to the public on Monday, January 7 at 10 a.m. Tickets are sold out through March 3, 2013, with some tickets still available March 5 - June 2, 2013.

Queen for a Day had its world premiere Friday night at The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts, with a stellar cast including America's Favourite Dad Alan Thicke in the role of Jack Bailey. The show examines the popular American reality show Queen for a Day, which gave everyday housewives the chance to appear on national television and vie to have a wish granted if they became 'Queen for a Day'. Thicke and the rest of the cast are the stand-outs of this particular production, which still needs to correct some clunky dialogue and overly predictable plot lines but shows some real promise down the road.

Theatre Sheridan Extends RENT Through 6/3

Theatre Sheridan today announced the extension of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical RENT for one week even before it opens! RENT was presented last December to sold out houses at Sheridan College's Oakville campus, and is being transferring to Toronto's Panasonic Theatre where it opens May 16 (preview May 15). With the extension, it will now run through to June 3 (instead of May 27). Tickets are on sale through mirvish.com or TicketKing at 416.872.1212.
