Theaterworks Hartford to Stage NEW WORK FESTIVAL

TheaterWorks Hartford is thrilled to present the 2022 edition of its New Work Festival. This free festival, running May 16–22, explores and celebrates new voices in American Theater. With workshops, a panel discussion, and talk-backs—both in-person and online—the New Work Festival strengthens TheaterWorks Hartford’s commitment to the development of important new plays. Participants include playwrights Brooke Berman, Melissa Crespo & Sarah Saltwick, Terry Guest, and James Anthony Tyler who are joined by directors Shariffa Ali, Michael Barakiva, Mikael Burke, and Caitlin Sullivan. Reservations are required and can be made at www.twhartford.org.

New York Theatre Workshop Announces Streaming Release of SANCTUARY CITY

New York Theatre Workshop announced today that Sanctuary City, written by Pulitzer Prize winner, NYTW Usual Suspect and former 2050 Fellow Martyna Majok (Cost of Living, queens) and directed by Rebecca Frecknall (Summer and Smoke), will be available for streaming from Monday October 25 through Sunday November 21, 2021.

BWW Review: SANCTUARY CITY is Off-Broadway at Its Best

While midtown has a celebratory vibe and cheers of 'Broadway's Back!' ring with each new opening and re-opening, it is nice to go downtown, to a smaller, less gilded theater, and see a piece of art that is a bit grungier, less commercial, more experimental and edgy. NYTW's Sanctuary City perfectly scratches my Off-Broadway itch.

Pre-Covid, to quote an old groaner, people were dying to get into Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery for the Angel’s Share concert series spearheaded by Andrew Ousley, producer of “Death of Classical.” The latest concert, on June 25, starred violinist Gil Shaham and The Knights ensemble in a sparkling 'pocket edition' of Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D.

Rite Of Summer Music Festival Presents The Knights Tomorrow!

Rite of Summer Music Festival launches their 10th Anniversary season on Saturday, June 19th with  two free concerts at 1pm and 3pm featuring The Knights. Artistic Directors Pam Goldberg and Blair  McMillen are thrilled to present this very special season in Nolan Park on Governors Island, New  York City.
