Roundabout Theatre's THE BIG KNIFE Closes on Broadway Today

Roundabout Theatre Company's (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) production of Clifford Odets' The Big Knife will conclude its limited engagement today, June 2, 2013 at 2:00PM. The Big Knife, directed by Doug Hughes, features Rachel Brosnahan, Bobby Cannavale, Marin Ireland, Billy Eugene, Richard Kind, Ana Reeder, Reg Rogers, Joey Slotnick, Brenda Wehle, C.J. Wilson and Chip Zien.

Wilson and Chip Zien.

Theatre writers who were lured to that other coast by Hollywood greenbacks have been known to express their disillusionment with the film industry via the Broadway stage.  George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart based their comedy Once In A Lifetime on their maddening movie studio experiences as did Betty Comden and Adolph Green with the musical Fade Out – Fade In.

C.J. Wilson to Replace Adam Rapp in THE BIG KNIFE

It was just announced that C.J. Wilson has joined the company of Roundabout Theatre Company's The Big Knife to play the role of 'Hank Teagle.' C.J. Wilson replaces Adam Rapp who departed the production due to scheduling conflicts. Rehearsals for the production began February 19th and performances will begin on March 22.

The Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) continues its sixth season of the Irish Rep Reading Series, with a free reading of JOHN STEINBECK'S THE PASTURES OF HEAVEN -- Octavio Solis's adaptation of the novelist's collection of short stories, first published in 1932 -- today, October 26 at 3 p.m. at the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street).

Signature Theatre is presenting the US premiere of TITLE AND DEED, a new play by Will Eno and directed by Judy Hegarty Lovett, which opened yesterday, May 20.
