MSOA Foundation Appoints Executive Director

The Middle School for the Arts Foundation has announced the appointment of Susy Diaz as the new Executive Director for the organization. Ms. Diaz, a native of West Palm Beach, brings years of experience in the non-profit and governmental business sectors to the MSOA Foundation, as well as a passion for the arts.

Burt Reynolds Institute Presents ALL ABOUT EVE at Lake Park Mirror Ballroom Tonight

Tonight, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. actors from The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) will enact All About Eve in much the same way as it was presented during the golden age of radio. Utilizing specially designed props and some traditional and not so traditional devices for sound effects, the performers will bring to life those days when radio was the dominant form of entertainment. And... to add to the fun, the audience becomes part of the show.

Diamond Jubilee and Speakeasy Raise Over $21,000 for Lake Worth Playhouse

The Lake Worth Playhouse celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a bang. Between two events, the Lake Worth Playhouse raised more than $21,000. The Playhouse was thrilled to welcome back Mr. Burt Reynolds who attended the Diamond Jubilee Gala Dinner as Guest of Honor and accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Lake Worth Playhouse Names Burt Reynolds First Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

The stage of the historic Lake Worth Playhouse was transformed into a formal dining room on Saturday evening, February 9, in honor of the Theater's 60th anniversary. Sitting at the head of the table, entertaining the happy guests gathered about him, was none other than mega star and Palm Beach County resident Burt Reynolds.

SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON World Premiere Plays Hayworth Theatre, Now thru 3/17

National Lampoon will present the World Premiere of SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON, conceived and produced by Matty Simmons, with original songs by Richard Levinson and directed by Pat Towne. SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON will begin previews tonight, February 7 at 8pm; will open on Friday, February 15 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 17 at the Hayworth Theatre, 2511 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles.

BRIFT's Rhiannon Richards to Appear in LITTLE WOMEN and DATING, DODGING AND DITCHING, Beg. 2/1

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced that 14 year old Rhiannon Richards, a student in Todd Vittum's Improv for Young Actors class will be appearing in the Treasure Coast High School production of Little Women as Beth, the youngest of Louisa May Alcott's heroines in the much loved book of the same name. Rhiannon is a ninth grader at Treasure Coast High and has been acting for two years. Performance dates are Friday, February 1st, and Saturday, February 2nd in the high school auditorium. Tickets are only $10.00 each.

Burt Reynolds Institute Opens Third Location for Classes

The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced a third location for classes at the Lake Park Town Hall - 535 Park Avenue, Lake Park, Florida. Lake Park is easily accessible from the I-95, cutting travel time for students living in south Palm Beach County, Broward and Dade counties.
