The Lake Worth Playhouse celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a bang. Between two events, the Lake Worth Playhouse raised more than $21,000. The Playhouse was thrilled to welcome back Mr. Burt Reynolds who attended the Diamond Jubilee Gala Dinner as Guest of Honor and accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mr. Reynolds was just as witty as ever for his first public event since his illness. From quibs about Clint Eastwood and Riveria Beach to heartfelt advice to student performers. He always had a quick line and a smile for each guest, truly connecting with donors and volunteers both.

The Diamond Jubilee SOLD OUT at 76 attendees for an intimate Stage Dinner Gala featuring a Silent Auction, Dining, Dancing and Special Musical Performances.

The Speakeasy SOLD OUT at 200 attendees for a fun and rowdy night of 1920's gambling, drinking, dining and murder-mystery entertainment.

"I was thrilled that Mr. Reynolds would join us for such an amazing celebration. The Lake Worth Playhouse has been a mainstay in Palm Beach County arts where many have taken advantage and learned from all we offer. This season is truly a special celebration for us and we thank all those who could join us in honoring that." - Jodie Dixon Mears, Artistic Director

Lake Worth Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre with a diverse array of offerings, including dramas, comedies, musicals, area premieres, Broadway favorites, children's shows, ballets and operas on film, live concerts, improv comedy and alternative programming. In addition to its main stage theatrical fare, The Playhouse presents year-round independent and foreign films in the Stonzek Theatre, an intimate black-box style theatre equipped with a large viewing screen and high-definition projection. The Playhouse is proud to offer a variety of educational programs for adults and children, as well as community outreach initiatives that bring cultural programs into the neighborhoods of underserved youth and also make theatre available free of charge for disadvantaged citizens in the community.

Since opening its doors in 1953, The Lake Worth Playhouse has had many talented performers grace its stage throughout the decades. Located in the heart of Palm Beach County, Florida's Cultural Capitol, the Lake Worth Playhouse is an artistic milestone. We are proud to be called the home of talented artists and performers, dedicated volunteers and a loyal and ever-growing population of patrons and donors.
