RESPECT To Close 6/30 After 20-Week Run at Society Hill Playhouse

Respect: A Musical Journey of Women will close on Sunday, June 13 after a 20-week run at Society Hill Playhouse. The show has sold over 20,000 tickets during the engagement, which originally was scheduled for 12 weeks but extended three times due to strong ticket sales.

Act II Playhouse Extends THE STORY OF MY LIFE Thru 5/30

Act II Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Bud Martin announced that The Story of My Life, a new musical about friendship, has been extended by a week, to May 30. The Story of My Life - written by Neil Bartram (music and lyrics) and Brian Hill (book) - stars Tony Braithwaite and Jim Stanek.

LE BETE to Play Broadway's Music Box Theatre; Opens 10/14

The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley will play Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) beginning September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), will officially open October 14, 2010. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night set for July 7.

LEGALLY BLONDE to Release London Cast Recording

The West End production of LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL will receive its own cast recording, according to a post on the musical's Facebook page on May 21st. The show will be recorded live on June 12, 13, and 14 for a yet-to-be-announced release date.

Mark Rylance (Valere), David Hyde Pierce (Elomire) and Joanna Lumley (The Princess) are joined by Stephen Ouimette (Bejart), Lisa Joyce (Marquise-Therese Du Parc), Greta Lee (Dorine), Robert Lonsdale (Rene Du Parc), Michael Milligan (De Brie), Liza Sadovy (Catherine De Brie) and Sally Wingert (Madeleine Bejart) as rehearsals begin for Matthew Warchus' production of David Hirson's La Bête.

TIME STANDS STILL to Play the Cort Theatre on Broadway Beginning 10/7

Tony nominated Best Play TIME STANDS STILL will resume performances on Broadway at the Cort Theatre on September 23, 2010. The production will re-open on Thursday, October 7. The play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies and is directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

RESPECT at Society Hill Playhouse Extended Thru 6/27

Respect: A Musical Journey of Women - the smash-hit girl-power musical on stage at Philadelphia's Society Hill Playhouse - has been extended another seven weeks, to Sunday, June 27. June 27 will also be the closing date of the six-month run of this wildly popular musical.

Fleeshman Joins UK Legally Blonde as Warner June 16

Richard Fleeshman will join the cast of the critically acclaimed Legally Blonde The Musical from 16 June to play Warner Huntington III opposite Sheridan Smith as Elle Woods, Jill Halfpenny as Paulette, Peter Davison as Professor Callahan and Alex Gaumond as Emmett. Fleeshman takes over the role of Warner Huntington III from Duncan James whose final performance will be 14 June 2010. Legally Blonde The Musical, which opened at the Savoy Theatre earlier this year, is currently booking until 20 February 2011.

TIME STANDS STILL, which yesterday received a Tony nomination for Best Play, will transfer this fall to Broadway to a Shubert theatre to be announced. The play, by Pulitzer Prize Winner Donald Margulies, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, will star acclaimed original cast members: Laura Linney, Brian d'Arcy James, and Eric Bogosian.
